It's finally starting again - under the new claim "we make your heart race", the Nürburgring is entering the new event season. Great emotions await professionals, amateurs and spectators at around 50 events from the genres of motorsport, music and sport. Highlights include the ADAC TotalEnergies 24h Nürburgring and the 12h Nürburgring of the Nürburgring Endurance Series as well as the 50th anniversary of the Oldtimer-Grand-Prix, the mega festival Rock am Ring or sporting events such as Rad am Ring or the Hotfoot Run. And even beyond the events, there will again be an extensive range of leisure and adventure activities. As usual, the Nürburgring Endurance Series will do the honours for the season premiere in 2023. On 18 March, the lights will turn green for the first time. The NLS will shake the Green Hell a total of eight times. On the combination of sprint track and Nordschleife, the large field of starters in the Green Hell will once again be at full throttle - with the entire automotive diversity from near-series racing cars to full-blown GT3 bolides. The highlight of the NLS season will again be the 12h Nürburgring from 8 to 10 September. Here, even the complete version of the race track - including the entire Grand Prix Track - will be driven. The fans know the same track variant at the motorsport highlight of the season. After a veritable fan festival with 230,000 visitors, the ADAC TotalEnergies 24h Race from 18 to 21 May once again invites to a gigantic horsepower party. Race teams from all over the world, a tough race on the most demanding race track in the world and the unique atmosphere around the track are expected: drivers and fans alike are looking forward to the camping and campfire atmosphere. A foretaste of the endurance classic is already available in April - on 22 and 23 April, the ADAC 24h Nürburgring Qualifiers will get underway. 50th Anniversary of the Oldtimer-Grand-PrixFans of historic vehicles will also get their money's worth this year - even with a big anniversary. The Oldtimer Grand Prix (11 - 13 August) is turning 50! As one of the most traditional festivals for traditional vehicles in Europe, it is once again the highlight of the historic motorsport season in Germany. In addition to an outstanding starting field with vehicles from the entire history of the Nürburgring, fans can look forward to a fan world around the Grand Prix circuit. Those who want to experience even more time travel is in the right place at the Nürburgring. With the endurance classic ADAC 1000 kilometre race (15 - 17 September), at the Nürburgring Classic (26 - 28 May) or at the ADAC Westfalen Trophy (13 - 15 October), horsepower-packed time journeys through history await. The ADAC GT Masters will start the 2023 season with the proven concept, events with strong attendance, a prize money pot filled with more than 570,000 euros and the successfully established sustainable fuel. Six race weekends with two races each in Germany and Austria are planned, with the series returning to the Norisring in Nuremberg for the first time in 15 years. All races will be shown live on free TV. The season will start from 9 to 11 June at a "special event" in Hockenheim. Sustainability also plays a decisive role in the new season in the ADAC GT Masters. For the second year in a row, the ADAC GT Masters will be running on the innovative Shell Blue-Gasoline 98 fuel, which consists of around 50% renewable components. Last year, the drivers completed 10,971 race laps with the sustainable fuel, making an important contribution to CO2 reduction. ADAC Head of Motorsport Thomas Voss: "The ADAC GT Masters will continue to compete in 2023 with the concept that has been thrilling fans for 16 years now. We will no longer pursue the plans presented in December with joint races of the ADAC GT Masters and prototypes. This is in line with the wishes of many teams to continue the ADAC GT Masters in its unchanged form. On the sporting side, however, we are sharpening the profile of the series by making a driver with a silver or bronze classification compulsory in every car in future. The calendarThe season opener will take place at a special event from 9 to 11 June at the Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg, with more information to follow shortly. One of the season's highlights already follows on the second race weekend: With the return to the Norisring, the series will contest the first of a total of four events at the DTM on the streets of Nuremberg. After the Norisring, the ADAC GT Masters will once again be a guest at one of Germany's biggest motorsport events: for the first time since 2012, the series will compete at the ADAC Truck Grand Prix at the Nürburgring. After the summer break, the drivers will face the Sachsenring challenge in September. Afterwards, the mountain calls: for the penultimate stop of the season, the participants travel to the current Formula 1 circuit of the Red Bull Ring. The finale will take place at the end of October together with the DTM as usual in Hockenheim. The sporting alignmentIn the ADAC GT Masters, two drivers will continue to share a cockpit. Starting this year, a silver-rated driver or a bronze-rated driver is compulsory in each car. Thus, the ADAC GT Masters remains true to its philosophy of optimally promoting young talent and giving young talents the chance to develop in a professional environment. Good performances and successes are rewarded: In the new season, participants will be competing for cash and non-cash prizes worth more than 570,000 euros. Brand core Germany moves into the focus of the DTM in 2023 ADAC uses synergies for new top motorsport platform ADAC GT Masters to be held under the umbrella of the new DTM Endurance in future Race at the Nürburgring on 04 - 06 August The DTM will compete under the ADAC umbrella from 2023 as the pinnacle of a strong German motorsport platform. In 2023, the DTM will be shown live on free TV with a strong TV partner. 23,500 fans saw spectacular and exciting motorsport, experienced action-packed frame series and ensured another attendance record in the German GT Championship at the Nürburgring. The Drago Racing Team ZVO with Jules Gounon (27/F) and Fabian Schiller (24/Troisdorf) won a thrilling eighth round of the ADAC GT Masters at the Nürburgring on Sunday. Final driver Fabian Schiller crossed the finish line first after 42 laps in the number 4 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo, ensuring Mercedes-AMG's second victory of this ADAC GT Masters race weekend. "It was a great race. Our car ran fantastically and we had good pace. On Saturday we were third, now the victory - I'm totally happy," said the 24-year-old. In the first half of the race, it looked like a copy of Saturday. Pole-setter Maro Engel (36/Monte Carlo) was in the lead in the #48 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo from Mann-Filter Team Landgraf, just like Raffaele Marciello (27/I) the day before. However, Jules Gounon kept close to his brand colleague, with the second Mercedes-AMG from Mann-Filter Team Landgraf with Frank Bird (22/GB) at the wheel following in third place. The next spectacular race weekend in the ADAC GT4 Germany is just around the corner. From 5 to 7 August, the series will kick off the second half of the 2022 season at the Nürburgring sprint circuit, with 31 sports cars from Aston Martin, BMW, KTM, Mercedes-AMG, Porsche and Toyota expected to take part. The largest field of the ADAC GT4 Germany so far in the 2022 season underlines the growing appeal of the series. Tickets for the motorsport spectacle in the Eifel are available online at adac.de/motorsport. The races of the ADAC GT4 Germany can also be followed in a live stream on the high-reach platform sport.de and on adac.de/motorsport. The title fight in the ADAC GT4 Germany will be just as hot as the expected temperatures in the Eifel. The Aston Martin Vantage GT4 duo Indy Dontje (29/NLD) and Phil Dörr (21/Butzbach, both Dörr Motorsport) will travel to the Nürburgring as championship leaders. Just five points behind, brand colleagues Hugo Sasse (18/Aschersleben) and Mike David Ortmann (22/Ahrensfelde, both Prosport Racing) are in second place. They most recently celebrated a one-two at Zandvoort and also won both races at the Nürburgring in 2021. "Our goal is to fight for the championship lead. Of course, the best way for us to do that is to win races. I have a very good feeling because it can be a super weekend," Sasse is optimistic. "It will also be a very special event for our team Prosport Racing, which is based just a few kilometres away. The team knows every metre at the Nürburgring." Hendrik Still (35) from Kempenich, who shares a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 from W&S Motorsport with Max Kronberg (35/Berlin), also has a short journey. "I'm looking forward to my home race and of course I know the Nürburgring very well. The layout of the sprint track should suit our Porsche. We had test drives about a fortnight ago and were therefore able to prepare ourselves optimally. I think we are well positioned," said Still. "My personal goal is to take my first pole position in the ADAC GT4 Germany. Top five finishes are possible in the races. Should there be rain, more could well be in it." From Olpe, east of Cologne, Jan Philipp Springob (21, Drago Racing Team ZVO) is driving to the Ring. "The anticipation for the Nürburgring is always particularly high, of course. Because some friends, family members and sponsors always visit me there. The atmosphere in the Eifel is just great and there are always a lot of spectators on site," explains Springob, who has a new team-mate in the Mercedes-AMG GT4 at the Nürburgring in Robin Falkenbach (20/Niederkassel). "On the sprint track, I particularly like the back part with the left/right corner after the exit of the short approach and the tight chicane. If you hit these well, you can gain a lot of time. The chicane is always a key spot in the races as well." The usual full field of ADAC GT4 Germany cars will be joined by three more at the Nürburgring as various regular teams further expand their commitments. Prosport Racing will bring a third Aston Martin Vantage GT4 to the grid, Overdrive Racing will field a third Porsche and CV Performance Group will offer a third Mercedes-AMG Series. Finally, the focus is back on the fan experience. At the ADAC TotalEnergies 24h-Nürburgring, the unique party atmosphere will return to the Green Hell for the 50th anniversary, and at Rock am Ring thousands of festival visitors will finally celebrate together again. Those who want to feel like a racing driver themselves this year are also in good hands at the Nürburgring. The training sessions for everyone with the new Formula 4 cars provide unique memories. Despite the different event formats, thrilling motorsport is still the focus at the legendary race track. The racing series and vehicles are characterised by an enormous variety. Impressive race trucks, such as at the ADAC Truck Grand Prix, are just as much a part of the experience as international top-class sport in the DTM or the ADAC GT Masters. Meanwhile, the FIA World RX of Germany is a fully electric event with plenty of power under the bonnet. The title decision in the German GT Championship will be made today in the final race of the season at the Nürburgring. Audi drivers Ricardo Feller and Christopher Mies (both Land-Motorsport) scored their third victory in the penultimate race of the season thanks to a commanding performance, thus clearly extending their points lead. But before the final race, three driver pairings still have a chance of winning the title. Among them are the runners-up of the race, Mathieu Jaminet and Michael Ammermüller (SSR Performance). Ricardo Feller laid the foundation for the championship leaders' victory in the first half of the race. After taking pole position in qualifying, he was pressed by second in the standings Luca Stolz (Mercedes-AMG Team Toksport WRT) at the start of the race, but then gradually built up a lead. At the driver change in the middle of the race, he was almost seven seconds ahead of Stolz. Partner Mies then brought the victory home without any problems. In the end, his lead was 3.490 seconds. Thanks to their triumph, Feller and Mies have a 17-point lead ahead of the final race of the season on Sunday, with a maximum of 28 still to be awarded on Sunday. Feller also took his sixth class win in the Pirelli Trophy standings for young drivers, in which he also leads the standings.
