07.03.2023

It's finally starting again - under the new claim "we make your heart race", the Nürburgring is entering the new event season. Great emotions await professionals, amateurs and spectators at around 50 events from the genres of motorsport, music and sport. Highlights include the ADAC TotalEnergies 24h Nürburgring and the 12h Nürburgring of the Nürburgring Endurance Series as well as the 50th anniversary of the Oldtimer-Grand-Prix, the mega festival Rock am Ring or sporting events such as Rad am Ring or the Hotfoot Run. And even beyond the events, there will again be an extensive range of leisure and adventure activities.   As usual, the Nürburgring Endurance Series will do the honours for the season premiere in 2023. On 18 March, the lights will turn green for the first time. The NLS will shake the Green Hell a total of eight times. On the combination of sprint track and Nordschleife, the large field of starters in the Green Hell will once again be at full throttle - with the entire automotive diversity from near-series racing cars to full-blown GT3 bolides. The highlight of the NLS season will again be the 12h Nürburgring from 8 to 10 September. Here, even the complete version of the race track - including the entire Grand Prix Track - will be driven. The fans know the same track variant at the motorsport highlight of the season. After a veritable fan festival with 230,000 visitors, the ADAC TotalEnergies 24h Race from 18 to 21 May once again invites to a gigantic horsepower party. Race teams from all over the world, a tough race on the most demanding race track in the world and the unique atmosphere around the track are expected: drivers and fans alike are looking forward to the camping and campfire atmosphere. A foretaste of the endurance classic is already available in April - on 22 and 23 April, the ADAC 24h Nürburgring Qualifiers will get underway. 50th Anniversary of the Oldtimer-Grand-PrixFans of historic vehicles will also get their money's worth this year - even with a big anniversary. The Oldtimer Grand Prix (11 - 13 August) is turning 50! As one of the most traditional festivals for traditional vehicles in Europe, it is once again the highlight of the historic motorsport season in Germany. In addition to an outstanding starting field with vehicles from the entire history of the Nürburgring, fans can look forward to a fan world around the Grand Prix circuit. Those who want to experience even more time travel is in the right place at the Nürburgring. With the endurance classic ADAC 1000 kilometre race (15 - 17 September), at the Nürburgring Classic (26 - 28 May) or at the ADAC Westfalen Trophy (13 - 15 October), horsepower-packed time journeys through history await. The Int. ADAC Truck-Grand-Prix is a little rougher than the historic vehicles. The race trucks will make the racetrack shake - and from 13 to 16 July they will give each other a run for their money when they thunder around the racetrack at around 160 km/h. Also at the start in the supporting programme: the ADAC GT Masters. Besides the track, there will be a lot of colourful activities. With many activities and exhibitors in the paddock, a children's area, a trade fair and, of course, the traditional music festival in the Müllenbachschleife.  Real GT3 highlights await each other on two weekends at the end of July and the beginning of August. The Fanatec GT World Challenge pwd by AWS (29 - 30 July) will kick things off. The DTM immediately follows from 4 to 6 August. A total of 13 teams with six different brands will be competing in the race series, which is being held under the umbrella of the ADAC for the first time. There will be cars from Audi, BMW, Mercedes-AMG Porsche as well as Lamborghini and Ferrari. Strong line-up and only European concert by the Foo Fighters at Rock am RingThe festival fans return at Rock am Ring from 2 to 4 June. Strong headliners are waiting at Rock am Ring again this year with the Toten Hosen and the Kings of Leon. They will be completed by the Foo Fighters, who will make their only European appearance at the festival this year. Anyway, the band, which has won the Grammy eleven times, returns to German stages for the first time after 2018. In addition, many other international fan favourites such as Rise Against, Limp Bizkit, the rock duo Tenacious D or US superstar Machine Gun Kelly await. Motorbike service a tradition for many bikersMotorbikes are also part of the programme at the Nürburgring. They celebrate their traditional opening of the season during the ecumenical service "Anlassen" (2 April). More than 10,000 bikers get their blessing in the paddock and enjoy the highlight: the joint parade around the Nordschleife. In addition, there will be tourist rides on the Grand Prix Track and other programme items in the paddock. Racing motorbikes from different eras will take centre stage at the Cologne circuit. On 14 May, they will show their best side on the Grand Prix Track. Particularly eye-catching are the starts of the veteran sidecar riders and the historic motor scooters. This year, for the third time, the Grand Prix circuit will be the venue of the ADAC/DMC Race Weekend (10-11 June). From "old iron" to sidecars and superbikes, everything is represented here for beginners and experienced pilots.  On foot and by bike around the RingThe fact that the Nürburgring can also be mastered on foot or by bike is impressively demonstrated by the athletes at the Hotfoot Run and at Rad am Ring. On 6 May, the famous obstacle course involves overcoming mountains of straw bales, mud pits and ice-cold pools of water. From 21 to 23 July, the cyclists take on the world's most demanding race track. The highlight of the event is the 24-hour cycle race over the combination of Grand Prix circuit and Nordschleife. But the Nürburgring is also popular with athletes beyond the event: a total of seven cycling and running events are scheduled for 2023. Here, amateur athletes can run or experience the legendary track on the various dates.  But even without a major event, the Nürburgring is always worth a visit. There is much to discover and marvel at. For example, the motorsport experience museum ring°werk, the ring°kartbahn with pure motorsport feeling, the Nürburgring eSports bar, the ring°kino with one of the largest 3D cinema screens in the region or various gastronomic highlights such as the Italian restaurant Lucia or the Bitburger Gasthaus in the ring°carré as well as the Devils Diner at the Nordschleife await the visitors. For those who want to take a look behind the scenes of the legendary race track, the backstage tour is just the right thing - including a visit to the winner's podium. > see the whole event calendar 2023 Start of the season with a new claim"nürburgring. we make your heart race."The Nürburgring is taking off with a new claim. Because the Nürburgring is more than just a race track. Nestled in the Eifel forests and firmly rooted in the region, it has been an international place of emotion, passion and unique stories for almost 100 years. And for Nürburgring fans from all over the world, it is one thing above all: a place of solidarity and community - a kind of home. The fact that emotional moments, people and a very special feeling of longing make up the Nürburgring will be visible and tangible this season under the new claim of the destination. From now on, the motto at the Nürburgring is: "we make your heart race". This claim stands for the passion of the employees of the Nürburgring companies, who see themselves as pioneers of unique moments and for the diverse experiences that the players and visitors experience here. It stands for goose bumps and heart throbbing, for adrenaline and joy, for an incomparable challenge.  These emotions can be triggered by a visit to the Nürburgring Endurance Series just as much as by an overnight stay right next to the race track at the Nürburgring Congress Hotel managed by Lindner. A ride in a kart, in the passenger seat of a racing car or in the simulator of the Nürburgring eSports bar also causes special palpitations - and taking part in a corporate event with a direct view of the race track is just as special. All of this is the Nürburgring emotion that creates special impressions and memories for everyone involved. Beyond the on-site experience, the Nürburgring feeling is transported all over the world. Through emotional scenes - for example in the live broadcast of a race by Nürburgring.tv or in the new image clip of the destination. And of course there are a variety of emotional image motifs from all events and moments at the Nürburgring via the Nürburgring communication channels.  No matter where, no matter when: everyone should have the opportunity to experience a piece of the Nürburgring and, of course, to feel for themselves what it means when it says: "nürburgring. we make your heart race."

ADAC GT Masters as part of the ADAC Truck-Grand-Prix

25.01.2023

The ADAC GT Masters will start the 2023 season with the proven concept, events with strong attendance, a prize money pot filled with more than 570,000 euros and the successfully established sustainable fuel. Six race weekends with two races each in Germany and Austria are planned, with the series returning to the Norisring in Nuremberg for the first time in 15 years. All races will be shown live on free TV. The season will start from 9 to 11 June at a "special event" in Hockenheim. Sustainability also plays a decisive role in the new season in the ADAC GT Masters. For the second year in a row, the ADAC GT Masters will be running on the innovative Shell Blue-Gasoline 98 fuel, which consists of around 50% renewable components. Last year, the drivers completed 10,971 race laps with the sustainable fuel, making an important contribution to CO2 reduction. ADAC Head of Motorsport Thomas Voss: "The ADAC GT Masters will continue to compete in 2023 with the concept that has been thrilling fans for 16 years now. We will no longer pursue the plans presented in December with joint races of the ADAC GT Masters and prototypes. This is in line with the wishes of many teams to continue the ADAC GT Masters in its unchanged form. On the sporting side, however, we are sharpening the profile of the series by making a driver with a silver or bronze classification compulsory in every car in future. This will ensure that the ADAC GT Masters remains an attractive platform for talent hungry for success." The calendarThe season opener will take place at a special event from 9 to 11 June at the Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg, with more information to follow shortly. One of the season's highlights already follows on the second race weekend: With the return to the Norisring, the series will contest the first of a total of four events at the DTM on the streets of Nuremberg. After the Norisring, the ADAC GT Masters will once again be a guest at one of Germany's biggest motorsport events: for the first time since 2012, the series will compete at the ADAC Truck Grand Prix at the Nürburgring. After the summer break, the drivers will face the Sachsenring challenge in September. Afterwards, the mountain calls: for the penultimate stop of the season, the participants travel to the current Formula 1 circuit of the Red Bull Ring. The finale will take place at the end of October together with the DTM as usual in Hockenheim. The sporting alignmentIn the ADAC GT Masters, two drivers will continue to share a cockpit. Starting this year, a silver-rated driver or a bronze-rated driver is compulsory in each car. Thus, the ADAC GT Masters remains true to its philosophy of optimally promoting young talent and giving young talents the chance to develop in a professional environment. Good performances and successes are rewarded: In the new season, participants will be competing for cash and non-cash prizes worth more than 570,000 euros. In addition to the driver and team classifications, the Pirelli Junior classification for young talents and the Pirelli Trophy classification for ambitious gentlemen will be announced. Teams can register for the ADAC GT Masters 2023 from 25 January, the closing date for entries is 1 May.

ADAC creates sustainable and future-oriented structures for the DTM

08.12.2022

Brand core Germany moves into the focus of the DTM in 2023 ADAC uses synergies for new top motorsport platform ADAC GT Masters to be held under the umbrella of the new DTM Endurance in future Race at the Nürburgring on 04 - 06 August The DTM will compete under the ADAC umbrella from 2023 as the pinnacle of a strong German motorsport platform. Following the acquisition of the DTM brand rights, the ADAC is using synergies to create future-oriented and sustainable structures for the top classes on the circuit. On its way to introduce synthetic fuels in the future, the DTM relies on an environmentally friendly and innovative fuel from Shell, which consists of 50% renewable components, as part of a new sustainability concept. The DTM's unique and proven concept of one driver per car will remain. With the eight-station calendar, the series will focus on the German brand core without sacrificing appearances at internationally renowned tracks. In 2023, the DTM will be shown live on free TV with a strong TV partner. ADAC Sport President Dr Gerd Ennser: "The DTM enjoys an international reputation and an excellent reputation beyond the borders - but the heart of the DTM beats in Germany. It was very important to us to create planning security for the teams shortly after the acquisition of the brand rights. It was important for us to concentrate on the core market. The ADAC is taking on a great legacy and continues to align the DTM with its transnational appeal as a strong international brand in European motorsport. We are creating a strong platform for German motorsport with sustainable and future-oriented structures." Sporting orientationThe DTM will continue to be the spearhead for professionals in the future. The ADAC is continuing the successful concept of the DTM and is sticking to the features that have defined the DTM brand for almost 40 years. The format with one driver per car and two rounds per event will remain. Tyre changes will continue to be a race-decisive factor: during the performance pit stops, the teams will fight for every tenth of a second. From 2023, standard tyres will be supplied by the premium manufacturer and Formula 1 supplier Pirelli. The recognised vehicle classification of the SRO Motorsports Group ensures equal opportunities in the field of participants. Sustainability will play a decisive role in the DTM from now on. Shell's innovative and renewable fuel, which has already been successfully used in the ADAC GT Masters in the 2022 season, will also be used in the DTM from 2023. The "Bottle Free Zone" initiative launched together with BWT ensures the avoidance of plastic waste in the paddock. For the teams, the series organiser ADAC makes economically relevant decisions. Significant budget reduction measures are planned for the participants. ADAC GT Masters to remainIn future, the ADAC GT Masters will find its home in the new DTM Endurance. Within the framework of the DTM, the GT3 cars from the ADAC GT Masters will compete in six to seven events together with the sports cars of the Prototype Cup Germany. The ADAC is currently in good talks with the ACO to coordinate the details. In addition to the new DTM Endurance, the ADAC GT4 Germany, the BMW M2 Racing Cup and the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland are also an integral part of the DTM programme. 23,500 visitors set attendance record for ADAC GT Masters

07.08.2022

23,500 fans saw spectacular and exciting motorsport, experienced action-packed frame series and ensured another attendance record in the German GT Championship at the Nürburgring. The Drago Racing Team ZVO with Jules Gounon (27/F) and Fabian Schiller (24/Troisdorf) won a thrilling eighth round of the ADAC GT Masters at the Nürburgring on Sunday. Final driver Fabian Schiller crossed the finish line first after 42 laps in the number 4 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo, ensuring Mercedes-AMG's second victory of this ADAC GT Masters race weekend. "It was a great race. Our car ran fantastically and we had good pace. On Saturday we were third, now the victory - I'm totally happy," said the 24-year-old.  In the first half of the race, it looked like a copy of Saturday. Pole-setter Maro Engel (36/Monte Carlo) was in the lead in the #48 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo from Mann-Filter Team Landgraf, just like Raffaele Marciello (27/I) the day before. However, Jules Gounon kept close to his brand colleague, with the second Mercedes-AMG from Mann-Filter Team Landgraf with Frank Bird (22/GB) at the wheel following in third place. Even after the mandatory pit stop, this order remained for the time being. Then the leading Raffaele Marciello was hit. The Mercedes-AMG works driver was penalized with a penalty for blocking Schiller in the pit lane and had to let Fabian Schiller, who had taken over the wheel from Jules Gounon, pass. The latter controlled the race at the front and, after a flawless performance, drove home the second win of the season for his team safely ahead of Marciello with a lead of 4.6 seconds.  Joel Sturm (20/Brühl) from Allied-Racing again crowned a tactical masterstroke with third place in the #22 Porsche 911 GT3 R. His driver colleague Sven Müller (30/Bingen) had already fought his way up from twelfth to fifth place on the first lap after a lightning start. An early pit stop and the penalty of the Mercedes-AMG in front secured the final podium spot for the Porsche duo.  One man's luck was another man's misfortune. Third-placed Elias Seppänen (18/FIN), who had swapped the cockpit of the #84 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo with Frank Bird, also received a penalty for a short pit stop and ultimately had to settle for fourth place. In contrast, things went very well for the combination of Maximilian Götz (36/Uffenheim) and Ezequiel Perez Companc (27/RA) in the #90 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo. The duo from Madpanda Motorsport made up nine places to finish fifth - the best result so far for the team from Spain in the ADAC GT Masters. Best Lamborghini drivers were Konsta Lappalainen (20/FIN) and Mick Wishofer (22/A) from Emil Frey Racing in sixth place. Behind them, Kim-Luis Schramm (24/Meuspath) and Dennis Marschall (25/Eggenstein) from Rutronik Racing in the fastest Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II finished seventh. Great fighting spirit was shown by Franck Perera (38/F) and Arthur Rougier (22/F) from Emil Frey Racing, who made up ten places in their #19 Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo and finished Sunday's race in eighth place. The pairing of Jesse Krohn (31/FIN) and Nicky Catsburg (34/NL) from Schubert Motorsport also showed bite, fighting their way up from penultimate place to ninth in the #20 BMW M4 GT3. The top ten was completed by Maximilian Paul (22/Dresden) and Marco Mapelli (35/I) in the #71 Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo from Paul Motorsport.

ADAC GT4 Germany enters second half of season with record field at Nürburgring

04.08.2022

The next spectacular race weekend in the ADAC GT4 Germany is just around the corner. From 5 to 7 August, the series will kick off the second half of the 2022 season at the Nürburgring sprint circuit, with 31 sports cars from Aston Martin, BMW, KTM, Mercedes-AMG, Porsche and Toyota expected to take part. The largest field of the ADAC GT4 Germany so far in the 2022 season underlines the growing appeal of the series. Tickets for the motorsport spectacle in the Eifel are available online at adac.de/motorsport. The races of the ADAC GT4 Germany can also be followed in a live stream on the high-reach platform sport.de and on adac.de/motorsport. The title fight in the ADAC GT4 Germany will be just as hot as the expected temperatures in the Eifel. The Aston Martin Vantage GT4 duo Indy Dontje (29/NLD) and Phil Dörr (21/Butzbach, both Dörr Motorsport) will travel to the Nürburgring as championship leaders. Just five points behind, brand colleagues Hugo Sasse (18/Aschersleben) and Mike David Ortmann (22/Ahrensfelde, both Prosport Racing) are in second place. They most recently celebrated a one-two at Zandvoort and also won both races at the Nürburgring in 2021. "Our goal is to fight for the championship lead. Of course, the best way for us to do that is to win races. I have a very good feeling because it can be a super weekend," Sasse is optimistic. "It will also be a very special event for our team Prosport Racing, which is based just a few kilometres away. The team knows every metre at the Nürburgring." Hendrik Still (35) from Kempenich, who shares a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 from W&S Motorsport with Max Kronberg (35/Berlin), also has a short journey. "I'm looking forward to my home race and of course I know the Nürburgring very well. The layout of the sprint track should suit our Porsche. We had test drives about a fortnight ago and were therefore able to prepare ourselves optimally. I think we are well positioned," said Still. "My personal goal is to take my first pole position in the ADAC GT4 Germany. Top five finishes are possible in the races. Should there be rain, more could well be in it." From Olpe, east of Cologne, Jan Philipp Springob (21, Drago Racing Team ZVO) is driving to the Ring. "The anticipation for the Nürburgring is always particularly high, of course. Because some friends, family members and sponsors always visit me there. The atmosphere in the Eifel is just great and there are always a lot of spectators on site," explains Springob, who has a new team-mate in the Mercedes-AMG GT4 at the Nürburgring in Robin Falkenbach (20/Niederkassel). "On the sprint track, I particularly like the back part with the left/right corner after the exit of the short approach and the tight chicane. If you hit these well, you can gain a lot of time. The chicane is always a key spot in the races as well." The usual full field of ADAC GT4 Germany cars will be joined by three more at the Nürburgring as various regular teams further expand their commitments. Prosport Racing will bring a third Aston Martin Vantage GT4 to the grid, Overdrive Racing will field a third Porsche and CV Performance Group will offer a third Mercedes-AMG Series. Back in the ADAC series is Schnitzelalm Racing with two Mercedes-AMGs.

Close fight at the top: Who will be the ADAC GT Masters half-time champion?

02.08.2022

For almost six weeks, spectators and fans had to do without the racing action in the ADAC GT Masters. This weekend marks the end of the "summer break" in the German GT Championship. The supercars continue the season at the fourth tour stop at the Nürburgring with races seven and eight. After Saturday's race on the Eifel circuit, the mid-season champion in the ADAC GT Masters has been decided. Given the balance of the field, many drivers can justifiably hope for this unofficial title. The second half of the season opens on Sunday at the legendary Nürburgring with the eighth of a total of 14 races. TV partner NITRO will broadcast the ADAC GT Masters races live on Saturday and Sunday from 12:30 p.m. onwards. > Tickets and further information Key facts, Nürburgring, Nürburg, Rounds 7 and 8 of 14 races of the season Circuit length: 3,629 meters Layout: eleven corners (seven right-hand, four left-hand), driven clockwise Winner 2021, race 1: Ricardo Feller/Christopher Mies (Montaplast by Land-Motorsport, Audi R8 LMS Evo) Winner 2021, race 2: Michael Ammermüller/Mathieu Jaminet (SSR Performance, Porsche 911 GT3 R) Everything open at the topThree drivers are tied for first place with 70 points after six rounds. The leader of the standings is Jusuf Owega (20/Cologne) in the #29 Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II from Team Montaplast by Land-Motorsport. The decisive factor is that, unlike his two strongest rivals, the young Cologne native already has one victory to his credit together with Ricardo Feller (22/CH), who sat out a race weekend. "It's incredibly tight in the ADAC GT Masters, not only at the front but throughout the field. Every point counts. Of course, it would be a good basis to start the second half of the season in first place. But the crucial thing is who's in front at the end. Then nobody will ask about the mid-point championship," explains the Audi driver.  His pursuers Christian Engelhart (35/Starnberg) and Ayhancan Güven (24/TR) in the number 91 Porsche 911 GT3 R were already leading the standings shortly before the end of the second race at Zandvoort before a technical defect set them back. At the Nürburgring, the crew from Team Joos Sportwagentechnik is not only aiming to take the lead, but also to score its first win of the season. The youngster duo of Niklas Krütten (19/Trier) and Ben Green (24/GB) have been at the top of the podium twice this season in Team Schubert Motorsport's #10 BMW M4 GT3 and are third overall. Niklas Krütten: "We have to avoid mistakes, especially in qualifying, because they are difficult to correct in the race given the balance of the field. If we get everything perfect, we can be among the front runners." The Emil Frey Racing team is in a lurking position after its double success at Zandvoort. Sunday's winners Jack Aitken (26/GB) and Albert Costa Balboa (32/E) have moved up to fourth in the standings with the #63 Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo, with brand colleagues Franck Perera (38/F) and Arthur Rougier (22/F) following in sixth. The combination of Mick Wishofer (22/A) and Konsta Lappalainen (20/FIN) has moved up to second in the Junior standings after winning on Saturday. "The Lamborghini works well at the Nürburgring. We are confident and want to achieve two consistently good results to stay up in the Junior standings," promises Mick Wishofer. In addition, fans are also looking forward to seeing the freshly crowned winners of the legendary 24-hour classic at Spa-Francorchamps. The three ADAC GT Masters drivers Jules Gounon (27/F), Daniel Juncadella (31/E) and Raffaele Marciello (27/I) won the race in Belgium in the Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo and are also looking to build on their strong performance in the ADAC GT Masters with their teams. Local heroes eagerly await home raceSeven drivers are looking forward to their home race in the ADAC GT Masters at the Nürburgring. The shortest journey is made by Meuspath Audi driver Kim-Lius Schramm (25) from Team Rutronik Racing. The double winner from Spielberg, Niklas Krütten (19), comes from Trier and starts for Schubert Motorsport in a BMW M4 GT3. The two brothers Salman (17) and Yusuf (20) Owega live in Cologne and both start for the Audi team Montaplast by Land-Motorsport, but in different cars. Mercedes-Benz driver Fabian Schiller (25) lives in Troisdorf and Joel Sturm (20), who competes for Allied Racing in a Porsche, in Brühl. Christopher Mies has the best memories of the Nürburgring. The current champion from Düsseldorf secured the ADAC GT Masters championship at last season's finale in the Eifel and starts with a special tailwind after becoming a father last week. Total motorsportIn the supporting program of the ADAC GT Masters, four more spectacular racing series will be on the grid at the Nürburgring. In the ADAC GT4 Germany, fans can look forward to exciting duels between the "smaller" GT sports cars. Hard-hitting touring car action is offered by the ADAC TCR Germany, while in the ADAC Formula 4 junior series the motorsport stars of tomorrow battle for victories, placings and points. The tradition-steeped Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland has electrified spectators for years with fast-paced sprint races, merciless duels and fascinating overtaking maneuvers. All visitors should make a note of the pitwalk on Saturday at 10:45 a.m. and on Sunday at 10:35 a.m. as well as the "Meet the Drivers" autograph session on Saturday at 3:15 p.m. in the event area in the paddock near the DEKRA Tower.  All 14 races in the ADAC GT Masters will start at 1 pm. TV station NITRO will present the races live from 12:30 pm. On RTL+, Germany's leading streaming platform, the racing action can be followed live or accessed afterwards in the media library. The qualifying sessions can be seen at sport.de and adac.de/motorsport.  Maro Engel is back in the ADAC GT MastersGreat news shortly before the fourth stop of the ADAC GT Masters season at the Nürburgring: Maro Engel (Monte Carlo) is back in the German GT Championship. The Mercedes-AMG Performance driver will pilot the #48 "Mamba" as the new teammate of Raffaele Marciello (27/I) for Mann-Filter Team Landgraf. Engel will benefit from his vast experience. The 36-year-old has already completed 50 races in the ADAC GT Masters and finished the 2020 and 2021 seasons in third place on both occasions.  The Munich native is happy about his return to the German GT Championship and has clear goals: "I'm really looking forward to supporting Raffaele and the team and will do my best to make the championship chances as big as possible. We are very well positioned with the team and the driver line-up with the very clear goal: to bring home victories. But I'm also really looking forward to the big Mann-Filter fan base. It's going to be great," says Engel.

Nürburgring starts 2022 season with full calendar

17.03.2022

The Nürburgring kicks off the season. In 2022, the versatile event location will once again offer the entire event portfolio with engine sounds, guitar tones and endurance sports. Finally, the focus is back on the fan experience. At the ADAC TotalEnergies 24h-Nürburgring, the unique party atmosphere will return to the Green Hell for the 50th anniversary, and at Rock am Ring thousands of festival visitors will finally celebrate together again. Those who want to feel like a racing driver themselves this year are also in good hands at the Nürburgring. The training sessions for everyone with the new Formula 4 cars provide unique memories. Despite the different event formats, thrilling motorsport is still the focus at the legendary race track. The racing series and vehicles are characterised by an enormous variety. Impressive race trucks, such as at the ADAC Truck Grand Prix, are just as much a part of the experience as international top-class sport in the DTM or the ADAC GT Masters. Meanwhile, the FIA World RX of Germany is a fully electric event with plenty of power under the bonnet. On the other hand, vehicles from all eras of motorsport await at a wide variety of classic car events such as the AvD-Oldtimer-Grand-Prix or the ADAC 1000-km-Race. Those who prefer to experience racing on two wheels will also find exciting dates in the calendar. The traditional start of the season for bikers, the "Anlassen" motorbike service, will also be held again in 2022. The emotional conclusion here is the joint parade of all participants over the legendary Nordschleife. At sporting events like Rad am Ring and the StrongmanRun, on the other hand, there is no performance measured in horsepower. Here, the participants only use their own muscle power. Away from the race track, the party gets going for the spectators at the Nürburgring Darts Gala. World champions and big names of the sport will be present in the ring°arena on 25 March. Big 24-hour anniversary, a 12-hour premiere and a mega rock festivalIn September, the big 90s party will take place in the same location - among others with the musicians of Caught in the Act or Loona. The indoor event is part of the supporting programme of the new Nürburgring 12h Race, which will celebrate its premiere from 9 - 11 September. The motorsport weekend will be the new highlight of the Nürburgring Endurance Series, which will start a total of eight times on the combination of Grand Prix Track and Nordschleife in 2022. Already in May (26.05. - 29.05.) the 50th anniversary of the legendary 24-hour race will take place. The fans will finally be able to enjoy the complete fan experience again. Including camping, barbecue and party around the Nordschleife, free choice of seats on the grandstands, access to the paddock and the obligatory visit to the grid before the race. There will be a big reunion with the fans just one week later at the Rock am Ring festival. From 3 to 5 June, the bands around the headliners Green Day, Muse and Volbeat will perform here and really heat up the crowd. A day at full throttle at the Nürburgring Driving AcademyFor all those who not only want to experience goosebump moments at events, but also want to put their foot down themselves, the Nürburgring also has an innovation in its programme. In future, participants in the Nürburgring Driving Academy training sessions will sit in ultra-modern Formula 4 cars. With breathtaking cornering speeds and explosive acceleration - from 0 to 100 km/h: 2.9 seconds - they will race around the Grand Prix Track. Everything is built according to the latest safety standards. The Nürburgring offers around 60 courses, ranging from starter courses to professional formula training. Today: Title decision for the German GT Championship at the Nürburgring!

07.11.2021

The title decision in the German GT Championship will be made today in the final race of the season at the Nürburgring. Audi drivers Ricardo Feller and Christopher Mies (both Land-Motorsport) scored their third victory in the penultimate race of the season thanks to a commanding performance, thus clearly extending their points lead. But before the final race, three driver pairings still have a chance of winning the title. Among them are the runners-up of the race, Mathieu Jaminet and Michael Ammermüller (SSR Performance). Ricardo Feller laid the foundation for the championship leaders' victory in the first half of the race. After taking pole position in qualifying, he was pressed by second in the standings Luca Stolz (Mercedes-AMG Team Toksport WRT) at the start of the race, but then gradually built up a lead. At the driver change in the middle of the race, he was almost seven seconds ahead of Stolz. Partner Mies then brought the victory home without any problems. In the end, his lead was 3.490 seconds. Thanks to their triumph, Feller and Mies have a 17-point lead ahead of the final race of the season on Sunday, with a maximum of 28 still to be awarded on Sunday. Feller also took his sixth class win in the Pirelli Trophy standings for young drivers, in which he also leads the standings. Thanks to the victory, their racing team Montaplast by Land-Motorsport took the lead in the team standings. While everything was clear at the top, the pit stops once again shook up the chasing positions. Porsche drivers Jaminet and Ammermüller were in third place in the first half of the race, but opted for an early driver change in the middle of the race. This paid off: The SSR drivers passed the Mercedes-AMG for second place, which they also took to the finish. This means that Jaminet and defending champion Ammermüller still have a chance of winning the title on Sunday. However, they are 25 points behind. Porsche drivers Christian Engelhart and Thomas Preining (Küs Team Bernhard) also got past the Mercedes-AMG of Stolz and Engel during the pit stop window and took their second podium of the season in third place. The Mercedes works drivers Stolz and Engel therefore had to settle for fourth place, but remain in second place in the standings. With a 17-point gap to the leaders, they remain their closest pursuers. Race start for the season finale of the German GT Championship is today at 15:30. Tickets are still available online and on site, all information - including the livestream - at: adac-motorsport.de
