The season highlight of the ADAC Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie is just around the corner. On August 3rd, there will be a 50 percent increase in the race distance. And the ROWE 6h ADAC Ruhr-Pokal race, which has been designed as a big family festival this year, also has more to offer in many other respects. There is a lot of action in the premier class SP9. 15 GT3 cars have entered for the 6-hour race. Falken Motorsports has a spectacular new entry. The Briton is the reigning LMP2 champion of the European Le Mans Series and competes in the WEC for Cadillac. Four teams are celebrating their comeback in the NLS. The two DTM drivers Ayhancan Güven and Thomas Preining will alternate with Laurens Vanthoor in the Manthey EMA 'Grello'. Now the professional footballer is going one step further and contesting his first race on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife. Together with Nico Otto and Marcus Menden, Kruse will drive a VW Golf VII GTI TCR in the AT class. The vehicle runs on 102-octane Shell E20 fuel, which emits 50% less CO2. “I'm delighted to finally be able to take part in my first NLS race after six years,” says Kruse, who has worn the national team jersey 17 times. "Driving Max Kruse Racing's own Golf on the Nordschleife will be tough competition. The test on Friday as well as qualifying and the race on Saturday - it's going to be a great weekend. I'm really looking forward to it and I'm hoping for bright sunshine." Benjamin Leuchter and Heiko Hammel are also competing in the same class with the new VW Golf GTI Clubsport 24h, which celebrated its premiere at the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring. The MKR protagonists will have to compete with two Porsches from Four Motors Bioconcept-Car. Rapper SMUDO (Die Fantastischen Vier) will alternate with Michelle Halder, Henrik Bollerselv and Matthias Beckwermert in the 911 GT3 R. First-class entertainment on and off the race trackThe ROWE 6h ADAC Ruhr-Pokal race will be a festival for the whole family. On race day, all German states are still on summer vacation. For this reason, the six hours of racing action are not the only reason for a trip to the beautiful Eifel region; fans will also be offered great added value in the paddock. With a bouncy castle and food trucks in the paddock, the fan area invites you to linger. Skye and Chase from Paw Patrol offer selfie opportunities, as does the Nürburgring mascot 'Legend'. The 27-time class winner will take to the Nordschleife in an Aston Martin Vantage GT4 from PROsport Racing to give interested fans an unforgettable lap of the Nordschleife. The DTM in its anniversary year, hundreds of historic automotive treasures at the classic car Grand Prix, the season highlight of the Nürburgring endurance series and the return of the German motorcycle elite: August once again has numerous highlights in store at the Nürburgring. There was no stopping Falken Motorsport at the fifth round of the ADAC Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie. With rain setting in at the end of the race, Julien Andlauer and Sven Müller kept a cool head and crossed the finish line as winners. The duo in the Porsche 911 GT3 R won the 69th ADAC Westfalenfahrt with a commanding lead of 1:32.741 minutes ahead of Mercedes-AMG Team Landgraf with drivers Lucas Auer and Ralf Aron. Team ADVAN x HRT's brand colleagues - Hubert Haupt, Jusuf Owega and Arjun Maini - completed the top three in third place. "That was a mega race," said a delighted Müller, who led the race together with Andlauer for 22 of the 28 laps. "I had some great duels at the start. Our car was really good to drive, even a bit better than in the 24-hour race. Five races, four wins - we can be very satisfied with the result." His team-mate Andlauer added: "The conditions today definitely played into our hands. We gave it our all over the entire distance and pushed hard. It's just a shame that our sister car didn't see the chequered flag." Tim Heinemann and Martin Ragginger retired with a puncture three laps before the end while on course for a podium. The team's diagnosis: a foreign object that had been picked up had damaged the tire. For DTM driver Lucas Auer, it was his second podium success on the Nordschleife. "There's always so much adrenaline in the air here, it's just incredible fun to drive in the NLS," said the Austrian. "If you then drive through and finish on the podium, you can be satisfied. The conditions were not easy to read today. There was a lot of oil on the track at one stage, so you always have to be ready. These are hardcore races - that's what makes them so special." Aron admitted that he had taken some speed out in the final phase. "We wanted to get to the finish and not take any risks. In terms of pace, we were doing well. I hope to be back on the grid here again soon." India's Maini celebrated his best NLS result to date with third place. "That was a cool race," he said. "I really enjoyed the first stint. Now I hope that more podiums will follow." Pole position in qualifying, which started late due to fog, was secured by Frank Stippler and Vincent Kolb in the Porsche 911 GT3 R from Herberth Motorsport. The ADAC Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie starts the second half of the season next Saturday, June 22nd. On the program is the 69th ADAC Westfalenfahrt over the usual distance of four hours through the Green Hell. The provisional list of participants includes 113 entries and promises plenty of action. An NLS dream team is back together for this race. Vincent Kolb and Frank Stippler have contested races together in the Green Hell since 2018, taking 15 podiums and one victory in the Audi R8 LMS GT3. Now the journey together continues. Kolb and Stippler will share the Herberth Motorsport Porsche 911 GT3 R. Stippler already raced for the team, which is now run by twin brothers Robert and Alfred Renauer, in the Porsche Carrera Cup in the late nineties. Kolb competed in both races of the ADAC 24h Nürburgring Qualifiers and in the ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürburgring for the team from Jedenhofen in the district of Dachau. Adrenalin Motorsport leads the standingsThe champion team of the past six years leads the championship in the ADAC Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie after four of eight events. Toby Goodman, Sven Markert and Ranko Mijatovic took four victories in the BMW M240i Racing by Goodyear class for Adrenalin Motorsport Team Mainhatten Wheels. However, it is questionable whether they will be able to defend their lead in the second half of the season, as the Cup class in NLS3 only has five cars named in the provisional list of participants, meaning that even a victory does not result in full points being awarded. This is only the case in classes with seven or more starters. Joshua Bednarski, Lucas Daugaard and Moritz Oberheim therefore have a good chance of taking the lead. The turbulent 24-hour race has only just ended and the next highlight is already on the agenda at the Nürburgring: Rock am Ring, one of the country's most famous festivals, will be taking place in the Eifel in just a few days' time. And the rest of the month is also packed with exciting events. In addition to GRIP - Das Motorevent (June 23), the third race weekend of the Nürburgring Endurance Series (June 22), the Porsche Sports Cup (June 15 - 16) and the ADAC Racing Weekend (June 28 - 30), a special highlight awaits soccer fans in June: the Nürburgring is hosting free public viewing of the German national team's European Championship matches. After the brilliant season opener last weekend, the ADAC Nürburgring endurance series continues without a break. With the ADAC Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie, the next double-header is scheduled for April 13 and 14. The first four-hour race starts at 5:30 pm and continues into the evening hours. On Sunday, the 90-minute qualifying session starts at 08:15. Season opener in the Green Hell - and it wasn't just the weather that showed its best side for the first race of the ADAC Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie: Race one of the double-header provided the spectators - and the winners Joel Eriksson and Nico Menzel - with thrilling racing in bright spring sunshine. In the Falken Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R, the duo relegated the legendary 'Grello' from Manthey EMA to second place. Laurens Vanthor and Kévin Estre were 3.644 seconds off the pace at the finish. The podium was completed by Frank Stippler and Markus Winkelhock in the Audi R8 LMS GT3 from Scherer Sport PHX. "It's hard to believe that this is my first race win here, after all, I've been competing in the NLS for a few years now," said Menzel. "I've been on the podium many times, I've taken class wins, but I've been denied first place so far. I think Joel is our lucky charm, because when he's on the car, it works. The opening weekend of the ADAC Nürburgring Endurance Series will go down in the history of the Nordschleife championship. Laurens Vanthoor won the race in the Manthey EMA Porsche 911 GT3 R with a wafer-thin lead of 0.042 seconds over Jordan Pepper in the RED BULL TEAM ABT Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo II. This was the closest finish in the 48-year history of the NLS. The number of spectators at the double-header was also record-breaking. "That was a dream start to the NLS season," said a delighted VLN Managing Director Mike Jäger. "Two days of thrilling racing action in glorious weather at the Nürburgring in front of a fantastic backdrop - that makes you want more! Many thanks to the participants and fans who made it an unforgettable weekend." Even the early stages of the race were a demonstration of GT3 perfection in the Green Hell. The protagonists who played a role in the showdown at the end of the race were already involved here. In addition, the two Mercedes-AMG GT3s from HRT and the two Falken Porsches fought for every centimeter. The six-pack chased through the Green Hell at intervals of just a few seconds until the first pit stop. After that, the leading group pulled apart somewhat due to different strategies.
