The 23-year-old Scuderia AlphaTauri driver, Yuki Tsunoda, will compete in the HONDA NSX GT3 Evo at the top-class show event on 09 September 2023. As a current F1 driver, he thus complements the already legendary line-up. Motorsport fans can look forward to breathtaking show runs and other motorsport highlights.
In addition to Formula 1 greats such as Daniel Ricciardo and Sebastian Vettel, Yuki Tsunoda has now also confirmed his participation in the motorsport event of the year - Red Bull Formula Nürburgring.
"I've never raced at the Nürburgring before, so I'm really looking forward to the event in September. I can't wait to race there in the HONDA NSX GT3 Evo, an incredible car and a proven winning machine at the highest level of GT3 competition. I know the Nordschleife is a legendary track. I already really liked it in the Gran Turismo video game," said the young talent.
In 2020, Yuki Tsunoda finished a sensational third in the FIA Formula 2 Championship as part of the Red Bull Junior Team and Honda junior programme. In this impressive year, he collected enough points for a super licence and a place in the cockpit at Scuderia Alpha Tauri. This is a dream come true for the young Japanese, who has been watching kart races at the Nakai kart track in Japan with his father since the age of four.
The historic Nordschleife was opened in 1927 and, with its 73 bends, rapid climbs and descents with a difference in altitude of 300 metres per lap, is still the scene of countless victories and motorsport dramas today. A highlight of the circuit is the Caracciola Carousel, whose steep bend with rough concrete slabs makes every driver break into a sweat. Around 30,000 motorsport fans can expect impressive Formula 1 show runs and many other breathtaking show highlights at the Red Bull Formula Nürburgring. In addition, spectators will have the opportunity to experience the 12-hour race of the Nürburgring Endurance Series at close quarters.
