Nürburgring among Germany's Top 5 most popular travel destinations!

06.09.2023

What a success for the Nürburgring. The legendary race track and event location is among the top 5 most popular travel destinations in Germany. In the ranking of the German National Tourist Board, the world-famous Ring landed even ahead of destinations such as Neuschwanstein Castle, the capital Berlin or the Hanseatic city of Hamburg. "What a sensational result. We are very proud of this! Many thanks to our visitors and fans who gave us their vote!" says a delighted Nürburgring Managing Director Christian Stephani about the top ranking. Fellow Managing Director Ingo Böder adds: "This is great and a great appreciation of our work." What fascinates people so much about the Nürburgring? It is one of the most legendary race tracks in the world. Beloved and feared at the same time: the world-famous Nordschleife, the "Green Hell" in the middle of the magnificent Eifel forests. But the Nürburgring is more than just a race track. It is a vibrant conference and trade fair location, a popular excursion destination and a guarantee for impressive experiences. With versatile offers such as formula training, karting, its own adventure museum, trackwalks or backstage tours. Since its opening in 1927, a unique myth has been created here with every story that can be felt and experienced by everyone. A living legend that fascinates motorsport fans and teams, the automotive industry as well as visitors and corporate customers alike. This is confirmed by the voting, because leisure activities with a high experience factor for the whole family and lively metropolises are particularly popular with international visitors to the website of the German National Tourist Board (GNTB). This was also demonstrated by the big Nürburgring Family Day, which celebrated its premiere this year. 20,000 visitors rushed to the numerous offers and spent a great day at the Ring. Incidentally, Europa-Park received the most entries in the voting this year. Last year's winner, Miniatur Wunderland Hamburg, came in second. Phantasialand Brühl follows in third place. The other places are occupied by Rothenburg ob der Tauber, the Nürburgring, Neuschwanstein Castle, the capital Berlin, the Black Forest National Park, the Hanseatic City of Hamburg and the Therme Erding. Since 2012, visitors to the website www.germany.travel have been able to name the tourist destinations they consider particularly recommendable in a free text field using the double opt-in procedure. Only participants from international markets are evaluated. The ranking of the Top 100 will result from the entries. The entire ranking is available at www.germany.travel/top100.

Apprenticeships as diverse as the Nürburgring itself: 19 apprentices start their careers at full throttle

02.08.2023

No fewer than 19 apprentices started their professional lives at the Nürburgring on time on 1 August. Whether at the operating company of the Nürburgring or in the Nürburgring Hotels and Holiday Park operated by Lindner: The apprenticeship professions are as diverse as the destination itself. They range from cooks to hotel and event managers to dual students. Together with their new colleagues, 37 young people are currently undergoing training at the Nürburgring.  The first working day at the Nürburgring was crowned for the newcomers with an appointment at a historic location: the new trainees positioned themselves on the legendary Grand Prix circuit for a group photo. For many, this was an exciting moment, because having the empty start and finish straight to oneself is something that only few people get. Accordingly, in addition to the official photo session, the obligatory selfie is of course not to be missed. "I'm glad that my apprenticeship is finally starting," says a delighted 19-year-old Ella, who is now learning the profession of event manager at Nürburgring 1927 GmbH & Co. KG. "I've already been on site a few times as a visitor, but now I get to be actively involved behind the scenes. I'm very excited about that." She is rightly looking forward to the tasks, because there will definitely be no boredom at the Ring. The circuit is fully booked every day from March to mid-November - whether it's for the 50 or so public events at the weekend or for the many driving training sessions, vehicle tests or tourist drives. In addition, there are several large and small events off the tarmac - such as trade fairs, product presentations or other company events. To ensure that the participants and visitors of such events always sleep and are fed in the best possible way, Paul starts his career as a restaurant and event specialist at the Nürburgring Hotels & Ferienparks operated by Lindner. "The uniqueness of the Nürburgring, the international visitors and the high quality of the accommodation on offer made me decide to start here. I am looking forward to the guests from all over the world and to the big events such as Rock am Ring," says the 18-year-old. In order to give all job starters a good start and, above all, a perfect overview of the diverse event and experience destination Nürburgring with all its facets, the trainees first start with two training weeks. In addition to the presentation of the various Nürburgring companies and lectures by the departments, there is also a visit to the Nürburgring.  In addition to a presentation of the various Nürburgring companies and lectures by the departments, there will also be a visit to the Nürburgring Formula Training, the ring°kartbahn as well as an internship day at the track management or a backstage tour. Vocational training at the Nürburgring - a varied offerThe 37 apprentices who are currently learning their trade in different apprenticeship years at the Nürburgring are working in different professions.  At Nürburgring 1927 GmbH & Co. KG, they are learning the professions of event management assistant, office management assistant or retail sales assistant, motor vehicle mechatronics technician, IT specialist in system integration, event technician or they are doing a dual course of study in business administration - trade fair, congress and event management at the DHBW Mannheim. At the Nürburgring Hotels and Ferienpark managed by Lindner, trainees learn the professions of chef, hotel management assistant, event management assistant, restaurant and event management assistant, catering specialist or do a dual course of study with a focus on hotel management. Destination Nürburgring - a strong employerWith 350 permanent employees and over 1,000 temporary staff, Destination Nürburgring is one of the strong employers in the region. Diverse career opportunities also await professionals and career changers at the Nürburgring companies. In addition to Nürburgring 1927 GmbH & Co. KG as the operating company of the race track and event locations, you will find Lindner Hotels AG as the manager of the Nürburgring Hotels and the holiday park, VLN VV GmbH & Co. KG - organiser of the Nürburgring Endurance Series as well as nürburgring.tv GmbH & Co. KG and Nürburgring eSports GmbH & Co. KG.

Regional job fair at the Nürburgring for the second time

19.06.2023

Preparations for the second major regional job fair powered by Nürburgring are in full swing. More than 40 exhibitors have already registered for the career event on 3 and 4 November. In addition to interested professionals, the information on offer is explicitly aimed at pupils, students and future trainees. This is one of the reasons why the Nürburgring is already cooperating with several schools in the region. In addition to more than 500 pupils scheduled to attend on Friday, the organiser expects a total of 3,000 visitors. Interested companies and schools can still register here. The premiere of the job fair last year already elicited positive feedback from exhibitors and visitors. "We presented our entire job portfolio here around our subject areas and had great conversations," explained Martin Raeder, for example. He is the managing director of Manthey-Racing GmbH, which is participating again this year. This also applies to the Koblenz-Mayen Employment Agency, which has already confirmed its participation in the fair. Regional manager Sonja Jahnen had already stated after the first job fair at the Nürburgring: "The selection of exhibitors is very good and the number of visitors simply shows how important this offer is for the region." So this year, too, there will be a comprehensive range of advice and career opportunities at the versatile event location Nürburgring. More than 40 exhibitors have already confirmed their participation. In addition to the companies already mentioned, the Federal Police and the German Armed Forces, Griesson de Beukelaer, Lidl, Scania, ZF, Dachser, the RLP Finance Administration and many more will also be present. These include the Grund- und Realschule plus St. Martin Kelberg, the Hocheifel Realschule Plus / Fachoberschule Adenau, the BBS Ahrweiler or the St. Thomas Realschule Plus Andernach. New emergency ambulance of the German Red Cross at the Nürburgring

14.06.2023

A new emergency medical service vehicle (NEF) is now expanding the medical care options at and around the Nürburgring. The vehicle, equipped with state-of-the-art emergency medicine, is the next positive flagship for the successful cooperation between Nürburgring 1927 GmbH & Co. KG and the DRK Kreisverband Ahrweiler e.V. With the Nürburgring Medical Centre as a medical location in the heart of the race track, joint and continuous investments have been made here for years in the medical infrastructure as well as in care. This enables versatile rescue operations for the region around the Nürburgring. Only last year, the DRK Medical Service put an all-terrain and wadding-capable Unimog into operation, as well as a converted command vehicle and a second, mobile ultrasound device. Now the head of the Nürburgring Medical Centre, Armin Link, presented the latest acquisition to the managing director of the Nürburgring operating company, Ingo Böder, and the district manager of the DRK-Kreisverband Ahrweiler e.V., Ulrich Bergmann. The new four-wheel drive emergency vehicle is equipped with state-of-the-art emergency medical equipment. In addition to an ECG and a respirator, this also includes a mechanical resuscitation aid and a mobile, high-resolution ultrasound device. This enables life-saving diagnoses to be made at the scene of the emergency for important initial measures and for onward transport to the right hospital. The vehicle is also equipped with a special E-rescue kit. This protects the emergency services in the event of accidents with electric vehicles and enables adequate care of patients who have an accident with such a vehicle.  The new emergency ambulance is stationed at the Nürburgring Medical Centre every day from mid-March to mid-November and can also be alerted by the Integrated Control Centre in Koblenz to public ambulance missions in the region in the event of an emergency if the NEF from the Adenau ambulance station is in use and not available. "With the location at the Nürburgring and the many investments made in recent years, we are jointly making an important contribution to medical care at the Nürburgring and for all citizens in the Adenau region," explains DRK district manager Ulrich Bergmann. Particularly in times when medical care in the countryside is facing ever new challenges and in some cases is breaking down, the Nürburgring Medical Centre is a firm medical pillar of the region. The tasks are manifold, because the staff of the DRK Medical Service take care of the needs of many large and small patients. Whether it's wounds to event visitors, injuries to racing drivers or various emergency missions in the region: the team of the modern racetrack hospital is on duty all year round. "We are glad to have such a strong partner at our side in the DRK-Kreisverband Ahrweiler. The new emergency ambulance is a strong addition to the state-of-the-art equipment of the DRK-Medical Service Nürburgring," says Ring Managing Director Ingo Böder.

Partnership with suspension manufacturer H&R: prominent advertising space on pit wall

26.05.2023

H&R is involved as an advertising partner at the Nürburgring. The logo of the suspension manufacturer can be seen in a prominent place on the legendary race track: on the pit wall. Thousands of fans already had the best view of the advertising partnership at the ADAC TotalEnergies 24h Nürburgring - from the packed main grandstands. Many more motorsport enthusiasts saw the advertising space worldwide via the live streams of the endurance classic. The contract with H&R for the advertising presence initially runs for two years until 2024. The partnership between H&R and the Nürburgring is the consistent continuation of the communication strategy of the successful company from Lennestadt. Motorsport is an integral part of the H&R DNA. Thus, in addition to long-standing partnerships with the Nürburgring Endurance Series (since 2003) and the 24h Race (since 2018), the commitment at the race track itself now follows. "The development of our suspension components is based on the knowledge we gain when using our products on the racetrack - especially the Nürburgring. It is the cradle of motorsport," says Managing Director Heinz Remmen, himself a former overall winner of the NLS in 2001. Yannick C. Remmen, also managing director of the family-owned company adds: "Furthermore, we appreciate the relationship of trust, the short decision-making processes as well as the customer-oriented thinking of the people in charge at the Nürburgring. That's why we are committed here." Christian Stephani, Managing Director of Nürburgring 1927 GmbH & Co. KG is also pleased about the new partnership. "The pit wall is one of the most prominent advertising spaces at the Nürburgring. Directly opposite the BMW M Power main grandstand, it is clearly visible to all visitors along the start and finish straight and also to countless viewers at the TV sets. When selecting advertising partners, we focus on industry diversity and I am pleased that H&R has also found its place here at our race track." In addition, the suspension manufacturer is now also a partner in the Nürburgring Business Club. This is where companies of all sizes and from all sectors meet. The club's offer includes various VIP & networking events as well as a general brand presence at the lege

Nürburgring and Mercedes-AMG extend partnership until 2026

24.05.2023

The performance and sports car brand of Mercedes-Benz "Mercedes-AMG" will remain a partner of the Nürburgring until 2026. A corresponding contract has been signed by the managing directors of Nürburgring 1927 GmbH & Co. KG and Mercedes-AMG GmbH have signed a contract to this effect. AMG thus secures extensive advertising and naming rights to the legendary race track. In addition, the Affalterbach-based company will make its sports cars available for various driver training courses and offers at the Nürburgring. The contract, which runs until 2026, also concludes a total of 10 years of cooperation between the two brands.  AMG has been an active partner of the Nürburgring since 2017. One of the flagships of the long-standing collaboration is the "Beast of the Green Hell" - the Mercedes-AMG GT R PRO, which was also developed on the Nordschleife and with which the co-pilot rides through the Green Hell are also offered. "Our partner Mercedes-AMG is a perfect fit for the Nürburgring in terms of brand culture and communication. Both brands stand for the highest standards and a strong emotional bond with fans, customers and partners," explains Christian Stephani, Managing Director of Nürburgring 1927 GmbH & Co. KG and adds: "The visual presence of the partnership is more than just an advertising space. It is firmly part of the appearance of our race track." Thus, the three famous letters will continue to show themselves to visitors at various points on the race track. At the Grand Prix circuit, the performance brand continues to give its name to the AMG Arena section of the track and the AMG Grandstand. In addition, the AMG VIP Lounge above the pit lane offers the perfect view of the action. The AMG Showroom continues to await all visitors to the ring°boulevard directly adjacent to the start and finish straight. Advertising space on famous Caracciola carousel - Art Car to honor the partnershipThe advertising space on the world's most famous section of the legendary Nordschleife also remains a highly visible part of the cooperation: a 20-meter-long billboard along the Caracciola Carousel. The Mercedes-AMG GT3 Art Car also drove through the unique steep curve, which sends the vehicles over rough concrete slabs on the inside, during the weekend of the ADAC TotalEnergies 24h Nürburgring. Designed by Andrew Mytro, the race car in its green livery offered a tribute to the Nürburgring Nordschleife in the starting field and also expressed the "rootedness" with the Nürburgring as a cooperation partner. "The Nürburgring and Mercedes-AMG have always been very closely connected. Whether on the Grand Prix circuit or the Nordschleife, the races at the Nürburgring are always the highlights of the season for us as AMG. In addition, the demands on the Nordschleife are also part of the fixed development program for our road cars. As brands, both undoubtedly stand for the extraordinary, for emotionality, for high demands as well as for close motorsport at the highest level. Thus, a close cooperation is only a logical step for us and I am very pleased that we continue this long-standing cooperation with the same partnership understanding," explains Michael Schiebe, Chairman of the Management Board of Mercedes-AMG GmbH. Performance vehicles for Nürburgring driving training and offersIn addition to advertising space and the use of racing vehicles at the Nürburgring, AMG will also remain the performance partner for the driving offers of the Nürburgring Driving Academy with various vehicles. The "Beast of the Green Hell," which was also developed on the Nürburgring Nordschleife, continues to be the official co-pilot vehicle. In the co-driver's seat of the Mercedes-AMG GT R PRO, co-drivers from the age of 18 can be driven around the legendary Nordschleife by a professional driver. In the process, vehicle and driver alike demonstrate how they handle the unique conditions of the Green Hell the most. On a lap of 21 kilometers, there are 73 curves, several uphill and downhill sections and a difference in altitude of 300 meters. The Driving Academy is also supported by four Mercedes-AMG A 45 S instructor vehicles. These are used, for example, in sports driver training courses or as part of courses where participants can obtain racing licenses. In addition to the experiences in the "real world," the partnership can also be found in the virtual world. All advertising space and naming rights can be found in the licensed driving simulations. So the professional eSportsmen and sim racers drive on a virtual lap past the same AMG lettering, advertising spaces and through the AMG Arena as the real pros do in races or the private drivers do in tourist drives. All information about the Nürburgring and AMG can be found on the respective websites www.nuerburgring.de and www.mercedes-amg.com

Partnership with tyre manufacturer: Nankang advertising installation on legendary Nordschleife

25.04.2023

The Taiwanese tyre manufacturer Nankang is an advertising partner at the Nürburgring. In future, visitors to the legendary Nordschleife will see the company's lettering on an 87-metre-long advertising installation in the "Breidscheid" area. The contract for the cooperation has initially been concluded until the end of 2025. For more than a decade, Nankang has been developing tyres for different purposes. The Nürburgring is regarded by the manufacturer as a reference track for the quality of its motorsport products - for example, when racing in the Nürburgring Endurance Series. With the advertising installation, the company based in the high-tech island nation is taking the next step at the Nürburgring and ensuring further visibility in the European market. But not only visitors to the most demanding race track in the world can now see the new advertising. The Nankang logo will also be integrated into racing games in the "Breidscheid" area, making it visible to everyone worldwide who drives the Green Hell in the digital simulations.
