A premiere, a reigning world champion and a first highlight in the tourist driving calendar: the Nürburgring kicks off the 2024 season at full throttle in March. While the Nordschleife opens its gates to tourist drivers for the first time on Saturday, March 16, the international darts elite around world champion Luke Humphries will bring the ring°arena to a boil on the same evening. One week later, the new Nürburgring Endurance Series celebrates its premiere at the Ring on March 22 and 23, before the following Easter weekend is dedicated to four days of tourist driving. The highlights in brief: Darts am Ring | March 16Ally Pally goes Green Hell: the darts stars travel to the Nürburgring again. On Saturday evening, March 16, they will compete against each other in the ring°arena. With Luke Humphries, fans can look forward to the reigning world champion. Anyone can drive their own car or motorcycle around the world's most famous race track in 2024. The Nürburgring has announced the dates for next year's tourist drives. The barriers will open for the first time on Sunday, March 17 and the first highlight will follow just two weeks later with the Easter weekend. Also on the calendar: the Green Hell Driving Days, which allow drivers to drive on the legendary Nordschleife for several days in a row in May and October. There are also evening events on the Grand Prix Track with particularly long opening hours until 8:45 pm. > All dates & open hours From mid-March to mid-November, tourist drivers can look forward to many dates in 2024. And the Easter weekend is the highlight of the first month, with all-day opening hours on the Nordschleife and the Grand Prix Track, four days in a row, from Good Friday to Easter Monday. After that, the Nordschleife opens almost every day for those who want to take the track under their own wheels, while the Grand Prix Track opens on selected evening dates. On some days even until 20:45. The rules for a ride as part of the tourist rides are very simple: in principle, anyone in possession of a driving license and an approved, roadworthy car or motorcycle can drive on the Grand Prix Track or Nordschleife. The rules of the road traffic regulations apply, including the right-hand driving rule. Overtaking is therefore only permitted on the left. A stopwatch is also not allowed to run while driving. These rules define the tourist drives as a driving offer for everyone and clearly distinguish them from racing events. Green Hell Driving Days in May and October - simply top up your credit onlineAmong the numerous dates and weekends, those opening times that offer driving fun over several whole days are particularly popular. The Nürburgring offers the Green Hell Driving Days for this purpose. In 2024, the legendary Nordschleife can be driven from Saturday, May 18 to Monday, May 20 and from Thursday, October 3 to Sunday, October 6. A lap of the Nordschleife costs 30 euros from Monday to Thursday and 35 euros from Friday to Sunday and on public holidays. It stands for goose bumps and heart throbbing, for adrenaline and joy, for an incomparable challenge. These emotions can be triggered just as much by a visit to the Nürburgring Endurance Series or by an overnight stay right next to the race track at the Nürburgring Congress Hotel managed by Lindner. A ride in a kart, in the passenger seat of a racing car or in the simulator of the Nürburgring eSports bar also causes special palpitations – and participation in a company event with a direct view of the race track is just as special. All of this is the "Nürburgring" emotion that creates special impressions and memories for everyone involved. Beyond the on-site experience, the Nürburgring feeling is transported around the world. Through emotional scenes – for example in the live broadcast of a race from Nürburgring.tv or in the new image clip of the destination. And of course there are a variety of emotional image motifs from all events and moments at the Nürburgring via the Nürburgring communication channels. The new Porsche 911 GT3 RS lapped the Nordschleife in 6:49.328 minutes - 10.6 seconds faster than the current 911 GT3. At the wheel was Porsche brand ambassador Jörg Bergmeister, who was intensively involved in the development of the new top model of the 911 series. The lap time was achieved in the presence of a notary. The new 911 GT3 RS is uncompromisingly designed for maximum performance. In doing so, the 386 kW (525 hp) road-legal high-performance sports car consistently uses technologies and principles from motorsport. In addition to the high-revving naturally aspirated engine with racing genes and intelligent lightweight construction, it is above all the cooling and aerodynamic concept that proves the direct kinship with its motorsport brethren. At 285 km/h, the 911 GT3 RS achieves a total downforce of 860 kilograms - three times as much as a 911 GT3. > Rekord drives at the Nürburgring "The 911 GT3 RS was able to prove today what you can already see at first glance - its absolute competence on the racetrack," says Andreas Preuninger, Model Series Manager GT vehicles. "Considering the less than ideal conditions with a strong headwind on the long Döttinger Höhe straight and excessively cool asphalt temperatures, we are satisfied with the time. The 911 GT3 RS sets new standards in the areas of aerodynamics and chassis. There has never been so much motorsport in a road car." The 911 GT3 RS with Weissach package was equipped with the optionally available Michelin Pilot Sport Cup2 R tyres in the dimensions 275/35 R 20 at the front and 335/30 R21 at the rear. The new 911 GT3 RS completed the previously used shortened lap in 6:44.848 minutes."Due to the strong, sometimes gusty wind, we lost a little downforce. Nevertheless, I'm very happy with the lap," says Jörg Bergmeister. "Especially in the fast sections, the 911 GT3 RS is in a league of its own. Here the car is on a level that you otherwise only know from high-class race cars. The car also sets new standards in braking. This makes fast laps on the Nordschleife simply a lot of fun." Frank Moser, Head of the 911 and 718 series, followed the fast lap from the pit wall: "I am incredibly proud of what the entire team has achieved in the development and testing of the new 911 GT3 RS. Jörg Bergmeister nailed it today and fully exploited the car's potential in the not so easy conditions at the Ring today. The 911 is always good for a surprise and proves that the rear-engined concept is still excellent for high-performance sports cars."
