Anyone wishing to experience the BELMOT Oldtimer-Grand-Prix in all its glory at the Nürburgring from 7 to 90 August should not just focus on the action on the track. In the paddocks, the AMG Arena and on the ring°boulevard, visitors can see historic racing cars up close. There will also be exhibitions, panel discussions, autograph sessions and plenty of activities organised by our partners. There are also special programme features: dragster show runs, a Le Mans-style start demonstration, the Formula Heritage fan vote and a talk by motorcycling legend Helmut Dähne are just a few of the many highlights in the supporting programme. There will also be opportunities to meet drivers and motorsport legends: Autograph sessions are planned at the Motor-Klassik tent, whilst at the BELMOT stand, Jan Schmitz will be hosting panel discussions with guests from the worlds of racing, the classic car scene and the automotive market. For selected races, he will also be providing commentary on the cars and drivers in the pre-start area before they head out onto the track. Schnitzer Classic brings together original historic vehicles and former racing partners in panel discussions, with many of them taking the time to answer questions in detail: As a tribute to the unforgettable Herbert Schnitzer Sr., Schnitzer Classic will feature not only an impressive line-up of cars but also panel discussions with the prominent drivers taking part. The discussions will be expertly moderated by Karsten Arndt, the man behind the popular classic car podcast ‘Alte Schule’. The weekend’s winners will also be on display on the podium, which takes centre stage after each race. To complement the ClassOne Revival on the circuit, supported by BMW Classic, Audi will also be showcasing vehicles from its more recent motorsport history on the Sport Renntruck, such as the RS5 DTM (2020) and the R18 (2015). A real eye-catcher there: the original 2020 DTM winner’s trophy. A race weekend with spectacular extrasThe “programme alongside the programme” is making a big impression this year. Dragster show runs will bring blistering acceleration to the start-finish straight on Saturday and Sunday, whilst the Le Mans-style start demonstration and the subsequent fireworks display will provide the backdrop to Saturday’s evening race. Formula fans can vote for their favourites in the five Formula Heritage classes via the OGP website. The crowd favourites will be presented with ‘Design Awards’ over the weekend. Motorcycle legend Helmut Dähne will give a talk on Saturday about the highlights of his career – attendance is by prior free registration only (also via the OGP website). In addition, the multiple Tourist Trophy winner and Nordschleife record holder will be spending time in the historic motorcycles area, where his winning BMW R 90 S will also be on display. Other exhibits include the 1927 Caracciola Mercedes and a major Bugatti display in the Historic Paddock on Sunday. Spectacular vehicles will also be on show in the GP paddock in the Maserati area – where the 100th anniversary of the distinctive trident in the brand’s logo will be celebrated. OGP partners enrich the programmeThe partners of the BELMOT Oldtimer Grand Prix are also creating additional meeting points in and around the paddock – led by BELMOT: at the stand of the event’s namesake, Jan Schmitz will be hosting panel discussions on exciting topics, and he will also be accompanying selected pre-start line-ups. The Motor-Klassik tent is the venue for the All-Star autograph sessions. There’s also a connoisseur’s competition or simply a cup of coffee for a quick break. August: Motorsport Month: Over the coming weeks, one top-class racing event after another will take place at the Nürburgring. The highlights will be the DTM races (14–16 August) and the Oldtimer Grand Prix (7–9 August). But the GT World Challenge (28–30 August) and the 6-hour race of the Nürburgring Endurance Series (1 August) are also definitely worth a trip to the Eifel. Here are the Nürburgring highlights for August: Two extra hours in the Green Hell: the NLS 6-hour race | 1 August 2026An extra dose of racing on the Nordschleife: the traditional 6-hour race of the ADAC RAVENOL Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie is coming up. But the seventh NLS round of the year offers far more than just two extra hours of racing. Fans can look forward to a long race day in August with a well-filled starting grid. The world’s largest GT series will deliver thrilling duels during its 3-hour race on Sunday. The field of entrants is huge – and, at the same time, packed with top-class contenders. At the BELMOT Oldtimer Grand Prix from 7 to 9 August, visitors at the Nürburgring can look forward to world-famous drivers, rare racing cars and automotive treasures with a rich history. The spectrum ranges from touring car and GT classics to historic Grand Prix cars and Formula racers, all the way to pre-war racing cars and motorcycles. Once again, the second weekend of August will become a journey through the eras of motorsport – with stars up close and vehicles that can only rarely, if ever, be experienced live. A reunion with well-known drivers awaits especially in the touring car fields. In the Super Touring Revival, Uwe Alzen and Gerd Füller will share the former Uwe Alzen Opel Vectra from 1998 in its distinctive Paulaner livery. The pair will contest an extensive programme featuring four races, as they will also compete in the Touring Car Golden Era races. Sebastian and Roland Asch have also announced their participation with a 1990 Ford Sierra RS500. The Deutsche Rennsport-Meisterschaft Revival is likewise shaping up to feature an excellent grid: spectators can once again expect spectacular appearances from Group 5 monsters such as the Ford Capri Turbo, BMW 2002, and Porsche 911/5 and 935. Schnitzer Classic will also provide a special highlight: the team is paying tribute to the life’s work of Herbert Schnitzer and the legacy of Schnitzer Motorsport. Participants include Altfrid Heger, Kris Nissen, Leopold Prince of Bavaria, Herbert Schnitzer Jr. and Uwe Alzen. On display will be cars that have written motorsport history – from the Schnitzer BMW 2002 Turbo and BMW 635 Group A to the BMW M3 GT2 and other classics from Schnitzer’s storied history. CLASS One Revival supported by BMW ClassicMore recent touring car history will be brought to the track by the CLASS One Revival supported by BMW Classic. Among the highlights is Bruno Spengler’s 2012 DTM championship-winning car, which will be driven at the BELMOT Oldtimer Grand Prix by Dirk Adorf. The demonstration runs of these spectacular machines build a bridge from the Class One era to later generations of the DTM – making them a perfect fit for the 40th anniversary of the BMW M3. Full Grids in HC 65 and HC 81The Historic Championship ’65 and ’81 fields are also strongly represented. These races count towards the German Historic Automobile Championship, promising intense competition and excitement. The HC ’65 is already fully subscribed with 41 entrants, as is the HC ’81 with its 58 participants. Among the most prominent names is Christian Danner, who will compete alongside Matthias Körber in both an Alfa Romeo GTA and an Alfa Romeo GT Am. Fans can also look forward to a large Alfa Romeo contingent, a Ferrari 330 GTO driven by Mike Martin, an Aston Martin DP214 with Paul Friedrichs, rare Elva Mk 7 and Mk 8 models, and classics such as the AC Cobra, Jaguar E-Type and Lotus Elite. Evening Race with Rare Sports CarsTraditionally, one of the emotional highlights of the weekend is the evening race for two-seater sports cars and GT cars up to 1965. Here, too, a full grid is already taking shape – and many of the announced vehicles are true treasures of sports car history. Among them is a Porsche 550 A Spyder, whose participation the organisers have hoped for over several years. Also expected are Porsche 904 models, two Lister Jaguars – including one with a rare Costin body – an Aston Martin DB4 GT, two Bizzarrinis and their predecessor model, the Iso Grifo. Several Lotus XI cars will meet their period rival, the Lola Mk 1. A particularly rare entry comes from a Danish collection: a Lotus powered by a Ferrari V12, raced in exactly this unusual configuration during its period. Original Grand Prix Cars and Formula HistoryThe HGPCA will bring genuine Grand Prix history to the Nürburgring with its fields for front- and rear-engined racing cars. Among the outstanding front-engined machines are several Maserati 250F models – one of them a genuine film star, having appeared in the Romy Schneider film *Monpti*. In the rear-engined field, visitors can experience cars such as the BRM P261 (ex-Graham Hill) and a Cooper T53 (ex-Jack Brabham). This chapter of Formula racing history will be complemented by Formula Heritage. During its demonstration runs, Formula cars from the 1970s through the 1990s will take to the track. Discoveries EverywhereThe automotive stars of the BELMOT Oldtimer Grand Prix can be experienced not only on the track but throughout the event grounds – particularly in the historic paddock. Also on display there will be a Bugatti Type 32 “Tank” and a Bugatti Type 59, which will take centre stage in the celebrations for the 70th anniversary of the Bugatti Club Deutschland on Sunday. The race program for the BELMOT Oldtimer Grand Prix 2026 is set – and it promises a weekend that showcases the full diversity of historic motorsports at the Nürburgring. From August 7 to 9, racing legends, classic car clubs, special exhibitions, and exciting show elements will come together there. On the track, the lineup ranges from pre-war vehicles to Formula cars, classic sports cars, GTs, and touring cars, all the way to modern prototypes and supercars. In addition, numerous partner promotions, brand anniversaries, and the premier brand club gathering make the BELMOT Oldtimer Grand Prix a major weekend experience for anyone who loves classic cars and racing legends. Those wishing to attend can still take advantage of discounted advance ticket sales through June 30; after that, the price for the weekend ticket will rise from 79 to 89 euros. A highlight of the weekend are the two-seater sports cars and GTs from before 1965, whose evening race marks the highlight of the weekend. At the DRM Revival, touring car and GT fans will get their money’s worth, as they will at the Touring Car Golden Era, where DTM and ITC vehicles take center stage. As in the previous year, the Super Touring Revival—which has grown to include at least 20 race cars—features vehicles from STW & Co. The newly added Interwetten Sports Car Challenge showcases powerful sports cars and prototypes right up to the recent past. They tie in with the roots of the Oldtimer Grand Prix, in which motorcycles also played a role in the early years, and will once again be on display during rides on both the Nordschleife and the Grand Prix circuit. In connection with the presentation, Helmut Dähne, a special figure in motorcycle racing, is also expected to attend. The former motorcycle world champion and Nordschleife expert represents an era in which courage, skill, and mastery of the machine took on a whole new dimension on the Eifel circuit. The historic racing machines can be found in the Historic Paddock, which also houses the Vintage Sports Car Trophy: a fitting setting for both, as the historic pit complex from the early days of the Nürburgring has already hosted many a participant’s vehicle decades ago. Plenty to discover on the event groundsA tour of the event grounds should also be a must for visitors to the BELMOT Oldtimer Grand Prix. Three days of world-class historic motorsport at the Nürburgring with numerous highlights – that's what the BELMOT Oldtimer Grand Prix offered the approximately 39,000 spectators this weekend. Despite some changeable weather, visitors to the Nürburgring experienced unique racing and show moments: The lineup ranged from pre-war racing cars to Formula 1 cars from the Cosworth era, from picture-perfect sports cars and GTs from the 1950s and 1960s to the legendary DTM and DRM racing cars and historic formula racing cars from junior series. Even historic racing and sports motorcycles made a guest appearance at the Ring, once again making the historic festival an extremely diverse experience. Reason enough to look forward to next year, especially as the date for the 53rd edition in 2026 has already been set: it will take place from August 7 to 9, 2026. The organizing committee of the BELMOT Oldtimer Grand Prix was satisfied with the outcome of the event. Head of organization Wolfgang Schulz: "This year's BELMOT Oldtimer Grand Prix offered thrilling racing with old and new highlights. With the help of the participating racing series and our partners, we were able to offer a race weekend that provided many real treats for experts in historic motorsport, while also giving fans who wanted to relive the automotive and human heroes of yesteryear their money's worth. Classic cars took center stageThis year's race program was even more diverse than ever before and left nothing to be desired. The Golden Era Touring Cars featured prominent drivers such as Kris Nissen, Roland Asch, Kurt Thiim, Volker Strycek, Altfrid Heger, and many more, who competed for the top spots in their legendary BMW, Opel, and Mercedes cars. A special highlight was the race for two-seater sports cars and GTs up to 1971 on Saturday evening. At the start: Porsche 904 GTS, Mercedes 300 SL, Aston Martin DB4 GT, Ferrari 250 GT SWB, and many other iconic racing cars, which brought real Le Mans flair to the track at dusk.The starting grids were almost fully booked, with points up for grabs for the German Historic Car Championship (DAHM): HC '65 and HC '81 offered thrilling, action-packed racing with an extremely diverse range of touring cars, GTs, and sports cars. A major highlight was the Formula 1 return of the Masters Racing Legends: the original Formula 1 cars from the Cosworth era (1966–1985) created a spine-tingling atmosphere with their 3-liter V8 sound—an emotional look back at the former glory days of Grand Prix racing. New to the program: the revival of the Super Touring Cars, the Golden Era Classic Cup with former Porsche Cup cars, and demo laps by historic motorcycles from the “Grab the Flag!” initiative, which added a multifaceted dimension to the event. OGP partners enriched the eventThe Classicbid auction on Saturday morning was also a great success, marking the return of a classic car auction to the OGP after a long hiatus. It was well attended and a magnet for collectors and enthusiasts. Thrilling racing action with the DTM (August 8–10) and the GT World Challenge (August 29–31), the AFTER WORK CLASSICS Community Day (August 22), and moments of glory for historic racing cars at the BELMOT Oldtimer Grand Prix (August 1–3): The coming month promises many highlights at the Nürburgring. Once again, the diversity of events at the traditional Eifel circuit will be on display: International GT races will alternate on the Grand Prix circuit with a major classic car event and a community day. Meanwhile, the ADAC Nürburgring Endurance Series (6-hour race on August 16), the RCN (August 17), and dates for the Radtreff (August 7 & 13) are scheduled for the Nordschleife. The events in August 2025 in detail: BELMOT Oldtimer Grand Prix | August 1 to 3, 2025August kicks off with one of Europe's most famous classic car events. At the BELMOT Oldtimer Grand Prix, spectators embark on a fascinating journey through motorsport history. Hundreds of historic racing cars, from touring car legends to legendary Formula cars, will battle it out in thrilling duels on the Grand Prix circuit. All tickets also grant access to the paddock, where visitors can admire the automotive treasures up close, look over the shoulders of the mechanics, and meet one or two racing icons. On Saturday, there will also be a classic car auction with around 100 vehicles on the ring°boulevard. Day tickets are available in advance from $35.00, and tickets for the entire weekend cost $89.00. Particularly attractive for families: children and young people up to and including the age of 17 enjoy free admission. For an exclusive experience, a VIP ticket with access to a lounge, all-inclusive catering, and an exciting supporting program is available. DTM | August 8 to 10, 2025The DTM is coming to the Nürburgring. And this year, the positions are even more hotly contested: the top 5 in the championship are separated by less than 10 points – thrilling duels are guaranteed. One race each on Saturday and Sunday, as well as other exciting racing series such as the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Germany, will attract visitors to the track. Day tickets for the DTM are available from $15.00, with weekend tickets starting at $69.00. Those looking for a more exclusive experience will find just the right package with VIP offers such as the RACE & LUNCH ticket. The Track Safari is also a unique experience. Here, spectators ride in a coach around the track while the DTM cars race past them at racing speed. AFTER WORK CLASSICS Community Day | August 22, 2025A day dedicated entirely to lovers of historic cars: the AFTER WORK CLASSICS Community Day. Starting at 12:00 noon, classic car owners and fans will meet in parking lot A10 on the ring°boulevard for relaxed conversations about cars at the famous Nürburgring logo. Upon arrival, participants will receive an exclusive discount card that entitles them to attractive discounts at ring°werk, the Nürburgring eSports Bar, restaurants, and the ring°fanshop. The highlight is an AFTER WORK CLASSICS session in the evening, when the gates to the Grand Prix circuit will be opened for classic cars from 6:00 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. Only cars that are at least 30 years old are permitted. Another highlight on this day will be a special Nordschleife track walk, where participants will experience the legendary circuit from a bus and hear exciting anecdotes from almost 100 years of Nürburgring history from a racing driver. GT World Challenge Powered by AWS | August 29 to 31, 2025More than 50 GT3 cars on 5.148 kilometers of Grand Prix circuit. At the end of the month, fans can look forward to a veritable fireworks display of super sports cars. The GT World Challenge powered by AWS, the world's largest GT3 racing series, is coming to the Eifel region. On Sunday, it will host a three-hour endurance race on the Grand Prix circuit. The starting grid will feature numerous well-known racing drivers in cars from BMW, Ferrari, Porsche, Ford, McLaren, Mercedes-AMG, and others. The supporting program will include the Lamborghini Super Trofeo and the GT4 European Series. The event offers affordable day tickets starting at €10.00 (weekend €35.00). The official VIP lounge of the Nürburgring will also be open for the GT World Challenge. Starting at just €299.00, spectators can experience the race from a completely different perspective. ADAC Nürburgring Endurance Series | August 16, 2025The ADAC Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS) is entering the second half of its season. In the 6-hour race, one of the highlights of the season, well over 100 race cars will take on the challenge of the Green Hell. As usual, fans will be able to get up close to the action at the Nürburgring Endurance Series. Tickets cost €25.00 and include access to the open grandstands and popular spectator areas in Brünnchen and Pflanzgarten, as well as access to the paddock and even the grid walk.
