There’s plenty happening in the Eifel in October: the colourful autumn leaves falling from the trees, the temperatures dropping at night – and championship decisions being made on the tarmac. So in golden October, a visit to the legendary race track is once again particularly worthwhile. Whilst there are racing cars of all kinds to admire on the tarmac during the season finale of the ADAC RAVENOL Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie (10 October), the European TimeAttack Masters (11 October), the ADAC Westfalen Trophy (16 to 18 October) and the ADAC RGB season finale (3 & 4 October), racing cars of all kinds will be on display, whilst the ring°boulevard will be all about the many beaming children’s eyes during the Nürburgring Family Day (25 October). Furthermore, the Green Hell Driving Days (2 to 4 October) have now become a tradition, heralding the start of the autumn season for amateur drivers on the Nordschleife. Here are the Nürburgring highlights for October: Green Hell Driving Days | 2 to 4 October 2026The second Green Hell Driving Days of the year are just around the corner. And, as has now become tradition, they herald the start of the autumn season for amateur drivers – three consecutive days on the Nordschleife, from Friday to Sunday, continuously from 08:00 to 19:00. The Grand Prix circuit will also be open all day for public driving sessions on Friday 2 October. Up to eleven hours of driving pleasure per day offer ample opportunity to experience the legendary Nürburgring circuits for yourself. As usual, a lap of the Nordschleife or a 15-minute stint on the Grand Prix circuit costs €35.00. Credit for the drives can be purchased online or on-site. The gates to the Nordschleife will remain open until mid-November this year. The last scheduled date is Sunday, 15 November. ADAC RGB Season Finale | 3–4 October 2026 For decades, the ADAC RGB Season Finale has brought together thrilling grassroots motorsport with exceptional line-ups at the Nürburgring – from the familiar touring cars to the little darlings in the ‘Battle of the Dwarfs’ and the Youngtimer Trophy. All tickets include access to the paddock, where behind-the-scenes glimpses of the teams and genuine motoring chat are guaranteed. Day tickets for adults cost 28.00 euros at the box office; teenagers (aged 13–18) pay 17.00 euros; and children up to and including the age of 12 enjoy free entry. ADAC RAVENOL Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie | 10 OctoberThe season finale of a successful season for the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie is just around the corner: Verstappen hype in the spring, consistently full starting grids and always brilliant racing on the world’s most beautiful circuit. On the second weekend of October (10 October), the Nürburgring’s flagship series will contest its final round of 2026 on the Nordschleife. The race cars – including numerous GTs and touring cars – will battle through the Green Hell for four hours. The prize is the final victory of the year – but above all, the coveted championship title. A mere four points separate the two leading teams in the overall standings: the trio of Bugane, Fübrich and Markert in the BMW M240i and the duo of Fielenbach and Sandberg in the Cup 3 Porsche, a 718 Cayman GT4 CS. A championship thriller is shaping up right down to the very last corner. And with a ticket for a reasonable €25.00, anyone can experience the action up close. This grants visitors access to the grandstands, the paddock and the starting grid before the race begins. Children up to the age of 14 can even enjoy the motorsport action for free. The Nürburgring also offers exclusive VIP experiences, including catering, on-site support and a guided bus tour immediately before the race. European TimeAttack Masters & Tuning Masters | 11 October 2026 One day after the NLS final, the Grand Prix circuit will host a showdown between Europe’s tuning scene. At the European TimeAttack Masters, Europe’s best time-attack drivers will compete against one another to determine the fastest in their respective vehicle classes in a race against the clock. Running in parallel are the German TimeAttack Masters and the Tuning Masters. Spectators can look forward to a bustling paddock, roaring engines and a colourful supporting programme featuring free track time, a dynamometer, spectacular drift shows and a dazzling tuning contest. Day tickets are available to visitors for €20.00. ADAC Westfalen Trophy | 16 to 18 October 2026In the middle of the month, the ADAC Westfalen Trophy – the final weekend of the ADAC Racing Weekend – will once again showcase the full spectrum of modern and historic circuit racing on the Nürburgring’s Grand Prix circuit. With racing series such as the Spezial Tourenwagen Trophy (STT), in which GTs and touring cars compete against each other, the ADAC Touring Car Junior Cup, the Porsche Club Historic Challenge, the Triumph Competition and the Belcar Historic Cup, action on the track is guaranteed all day long. Day tickets are available from as little as 10.00 euros (Friday) and 20.00 euros (Saturday/Sunday), whilst the weekend ticket also costs a family-friendly 28.00 euros (children under 12 go free). Nürburgring Family Day | 25 October 2026On the last weekend in October, the Nürburgring will once again become a huge adventure playground for young and old alike. From 10.00 to 17.00, Family Day will attract visitors to the ring°boulevard and the ring°carré with a varied programme: weather-proof, free of charge and full of colour. In the spacious indoor venues around the start-and-finish straight, a large promenade and hands-on activities are once again waiting to be discovered. On the large RPR1. stage, entertainment will be provided by the Nürburgring mascot Legend and his mascot friends, interactive musician Uwe Reetz, football artist Jannik Freestyle, a trio of magicians and rousing cheerleading. In addition, test drives in real Formula racing cars, motorbike shows, go-kart slaloms, emergency vehicles from the fire brigade, police and ambulance services, as well as bouncy castles, wheels of fortune and more, are sure to set the hearts of children and adults alike racing. Excitement builds as the RCN season draws to a close

22.09.2026

The penultimate round of the 2026 Nürburgring Circuit Challenge (RCN) will take place on Saturday 26 September on the 24.358-kilometre circuit configuration of the Nürburgring (Nordschleife + GP short link). The ‘Preis der Erftquelle’ special stage, organised by SfG Schönau e.V. within the ADAC, will consist of 16 laps covering a distance of 389.728 kilometres. The start will take place at 12.30 pm on the start-and-finish straight of the GP circuit. Just under 160 entries have been received for this round of the grassroots racing series. RCN series manager Willi Hillebrand: “We are slowly approaching the end of the season. If the weather is on our side again, we’ll be in for an exciting event and will see the first decisive moments in the championship.” The 16 laps of the performance test at the legendary Nürburgring are made up as follows: 1 setting lap, 2 confirmation laps, 12 sprint laps and 1 cool-down lap. Refuelling takes place in the pit lane; all cars are only permitted to refuel during the sprint laps and must adhere to the prescribed total pit stop time of 10 minutes. If this time is not met, 10 penalty points are awarded for every second. The maximum total driving time for this RCN event is 225 minutes. With 24 cars, the R4 class is once again the largest on the starting grid. Sixteen entrants have entered the R2A class. Eleven cars have been entered in the H4 class. Nine teams are set to compete in each of the H3 and RS4 classes. The current RCN championship leaders for 2026 are Sven Markert and Lars Harbeck (both from Berlin, driving a BMW 320i) in the H3 class, a class the pair have won every time so far. As the field in this class is not usually particularly strong, there are still other promising rivals. Jens Schneider and Robin Reimer (Engelsbrand/Schömberg) from the R4 class, who have led for much of this season, face the challenge of coming up against two equally strong teams. The pair must always be wary of Sascha Steinhart (Hilden, BMW 325i) and Jan Buchwald (Menden, BMW 325i), who are capable of securing a stage victory at any time and, even if the worst result is discarded, still have an outside chance of winning the title. Third place in the championship table is held by Christian Koch (Wickede, BMW 325i) from the H4 class. But the battle for the titles is still raging in the other RCN categories too. In the RCN Overall Winners’ Cup, Michael Luther/Markus Schmickler (Barsbüttel/Bad Neuenahr, BMW M4 GT4) and David Vogt (Waldfeucht, Opel Astra TCR) are locked in a neck-and-neck battle. In the RCN Light class, Andrea Heim (Gronau, Renault Clio) and Maximilian Weissermel (Oberursel, Porsche Cayman) are the favourites. Michael Luther leads the RCN Seniors’ Cup by a comfortable margin. In the RCN Ladies’ Trophy, Lisa Ganser and Sophie Hoenjet (Würselen/Boos, Seat Leon Cupra) are currently in the lead. In the RCN Junior Cup, Lukas Schwenk (Volxheim, Renault Megane RS) is ahead of Elias Funke (Lippstadt, Renault Clio RS). There are plenty of favourites for top placings, including Michael Luther and Markus Schmickler, David Vogt, Andreas Schwarz (Obernburg, Cupra Leon TCR), Alain Dutronc (Switzerland, Porsche Cayman GT4 CS), Rolf Weißenfeld (Peterslahr, Peugeot 308 TCR), Erich Petrich (Wawern, BMW M3), Axel and Andreas Schwelgien (both from Fürstenwalde, BMW M3), Reinhold Renger and Marc Andreas Riedl (Rothenburg/Hamburg, Porsche Cayman GT4 CS) and, for the second time this season, Dirk Maier (Albstadt) with Yannik Fübrich (Brackenheim) in the BMW M2 Competition.

Fifth Event of the 2026 RCN: A Summer Outing on the Nordschleife

15.07.2026

Six weeks after the last event of the Nürburgring Circuit Challenge (RCN), the fifth round of the season is on the schedule. More than 160 participants entered the “Um die Westfalen-Trophy” performance test, which is held on the Nürburgring Nordschleife and organized by MSC Bork e.V. in conjunction with the ADAC. RCN Series Manager Willi Hillebrand: “Let’s hope the weather cooperates. An event with predictable conditions would be nice. The entry list is more than satisfactory for a summer date.”  The 15 laps of the performance test on the 20.793-kilometer-long Nordschleife—for a total distance of 311.895 kilometers—are divided into: 1 qualifying lap, 1 confirmation lap, 10 sprint laps, 2 refueling laps with a maximum time of 50 minutes, and 1 cool-down lap. The maximum total driving time for the event is 190 minutes. The current RCN standings leaders, Jens Schneider and Robin Reimer (Engelsbrand / Schömberg, BMW 325i), will compete in the R4 class, which—with 22 entered participants—is once again the largest in the field. Their closest rivals, Sven Markert and Lars Harbeck (both from Berlin, BMW 320i), will compete as usual in the H3 class, which features 11 vehicles in this race. Christian Koch (Wickede, BMW 325i), who is third in the standings, is coming from the H4 class, which has 13 cars this time. There are 16 starters in the R2A class, and 11 teams will be competing in the RS3A class. Among the favorites for the RCN overall victory or a top finish are Michael Luther / Markus Schmickler (Barsbüttel / Bad Neuenahr, BMW M4 GT4), David Vogt (Waldfeucht, Opel Astra TCR), Andreas Schwarz (Obernburg, Cupra Leon TCR) , Alain Dutronc (Switzerland, Porsche Cayman GT4 CS), Sven Markert / Lars Harbeck, Stefan Schmickler (Bad Neuenahr, Porsche Cayman), and Eric Petrich (Wawern, BMW M3). Of particular interest is the driver pairing in the BMW M2 Competition in the RS8A class. Joining Dirk Maier (Albstadt) this time is Yannik Fübrich (Brackenheim), the current leader in the NLS standings and a former NLS champion. Maier: “I’ve wanted to drive with a professional partner for a long time to see what the car is capable of.” Schedule for the “Um die Westfalen-Trophy” Friday, June 17, 20262:30–7:30 p.m. Welcome Center “Scharfer Kopf”3:30–8:00 p.m. Document Check (Historic Paddock)3:30–8:30 p.m. Document Check (Historic Paddock) Saturday, June 18, 20267:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. “Scharfer Kopf” Welcome Center8:15–11:15 a.m. Document Check (Historic Paddock)8:15–11:30 a.m. Technical inspection (Historic Pit Area)10:30 a.m. Briefing for new drivers (Historic Pit Area)11:40 a.m. Drivers’ briefing (Historic Pit Area)12:30 p.m. Start5:00 p.m. Virtual posting of results (www.r-c-n.com)5:30 p.m. Awards ceremony (Historic Paddock) RCN 2026 Calendar March 28: “Bergischer Schmied” Nordschleife + GP Short CircuitApril 25: “Preis der Schlossstadt Brühl” Nordschleife + GP Short CircuitMay 14 “Feste Nürburg” Nürburgring Nordschleife + GP 24-hour variantMay 30 “Nordeifelpokal” Nürburgring NordschleifeJuly 18 “Um die Westfalen-Trophy” Nürburgring NordschleifeSeptember 5: “Rhein-Ruhr” Nürburgring NordschleifeSeptember 26: “Erftquelle Prize” Nordschleife + GP Short CircuitOctober 24: “Schwedenkreuz” 3-hour RCN raceNürburgring Nordschleife + GP Short Circuit

“Bergischer Schmied” – Kickoff of the Nürburgring Circuit Challenge | Start of the 2026 Season

25.03.2026

The 2026 season of the Nürburgring Circuit Challenge (RCN) kicks off on Saturday, March 28, with the “Bergischer Schmied” race. The performance test, organized by the Bergischer Motor-Club e.V. within the ADAC, will take place on the 24.358-kilometer variant of the Nürburgring (Nordschleife + GP short connection). The season opener consists of 16 laps covering a distance of 389.728 kilometers; the race starts on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. on the start-finish straight of the GP circuit. Over 130 entries have been received for the event so far. RCN Series Manager Willi Hillebrand: “We are quite satisfied with the result. At the start of the season, entry numbers are still somewhat lower. However, that will change as the season progresses. Our grassroots racing series remains on the right track. This is also evident from the fact that nearly 200 participants have registered for the series on a permanent basis.” The 16 laps of the first performance test in the 2026 season are divided into: 1 qualifying lap, 2 confirmation laps, 12 sprint laps, and 1 cool-down lap. Refueling takes place in the pit lane; all vehicles may refuel only during the sprint laps and must adhere to the prescribed total pit stop time of 10 minutes. If the time is not met, 10 penalty points are assessed for every second. A lap time of 8:20 minutes must not be undershot. The total driving time for the event is a maximum of 225 minutes. The R4 class is the largest at the season opener with 17 cars. The R2A and H4 classes each have 13 entrants. There are 12 cars entered in the H3 class and 10 teams in the RS4 class. Based on last year’s experience, the number of favorites for the first win of the season and other top finishes is once again quite large at the 2026 season opener: including Michael Luther/Markus Schmickler (Barsbüttel/Bad Neuenahr, BMW M4 GT4), David Vogt (Waldfeucht, Opel Astra TCR), Volker Hanf/Sascha Siegert (Rheinbach/Rhede, Cupra Leon TCR), Andreas Schwarz (Obernburg, Cupra Leon TCR), Sascha Kloft/Heiko Tönges (Zehnhausen/Bell, Porsche Cayman GT4 CS), Moritz Rosenbach (Dörth, VW Golf TCR), Alain Dutronc (Switzerland, Porsche Cayman GT4 CS), and Florian Pröbstl (Hohenpeißenberg, BMW M3). Nürburgring Circuit Challenge 2026 season: RCN just before the start of the season

05.03.2026

There is still around a month to go until the Rundstrecken-Challenge Nürburgring (RCN) kicks off the 2026 season. Preparations are largely complete: the dates have been set, the announcement has been made, and over 150 participants have already registered for the popular amateur racing series. Nothing stands in the way of a successful start to the 46th season at the Nürburgring on Saturday, March 28. RCN Series Manager Willi Hillebrand: "We can hardly wait for things to finally get going again after the long winter break. The number of registrations is encouragingly high. Interest in the traditional grassroots racing series remains unbroken. If the weather cooperates and there are no other unforeseeable events, it should be another successful motorsport year for the RCN in the Eifel." The 2026 RCN calendar also includes eight events at the Nürburgring – seven performance tests and one circuit race. The events will be held on three different track variants. Three performance tests (RCN 04, RCN 05, RCN 06) will take place exclusively on the Nürburgring Nordschleife (lap length 20.793 kilometers). The event will cover 15 laps or 311.895 kilometers. The distance is made up of: 2 laps at target time, 10 laps at best time, 2 laps at maximum time (including refueling), and 1 cool-down lap. As part of the ADAC Ravenol 24-hour race, the performance test (RCN 03) will take place on the 24-hour variant (Nürburgring Nordschleife + GP course without AMG Arena) with a lap length of 25.378 kilometers (total distance 355.292 kilometers). The 14 laps are divided as follows: 3 laps at target time, 10 laps at best time, and 1 cool-down lap. The RCN will drive four times on the longer track variant (Nürburgring Nordschleife + GP short connection) with 24.358 kilometers. In the three performance tests (RCN 01, RCN 02, RCN 07), the distance is 16 laps or 389.728 kilometers. There are 3 laps on target time, 12 laps on best time (including refueling in the pit lane, minimum standstill time 10 minutes per vehicle), and 1 cool-down lap. In the “Schwedenkreuz” circuit race (RCN 08) at the end of the season, there is no lap requirement, as the distance is measured by time. This year, the RCN will not be hosting the Youngtimers, but instead the RCN GLP regularity test will be held as part of the event. There are still opportunities to compete in more than 30 classes. Accordingly, a wide variety of vehicles will be on display, from small VW Polos to powerful Porsche 911 GT3 Cups. RCN titles will be awarded in 8 categories. In addition to the RCN champions, title holders will also be sought in the RCN Overall Winner Cup, the RCN Junior Trophy, the RCN team rankings, and the RCN Light. The RCN Ladies Trophy and the RCN Senior Cup are also being advertised. The respective class winners will be honored at the end of the season, and trophies will also be awarded to the winners in the ranking groups. The entry fees for participants were adjusted before the 2026 season to reflect the increased costs. RCN Series Manager Hillebrand: “We calculated carefully and then made the decision to adjust the fees. To our regret, we had to pay tribute to the recent increase in costs for organizing the event.” The 2026 RCN season begins on Saturday, March 28, with the “Bergischer Schmied” performance test, organized by the Bergischer Motor-Club e.V. (BMC) in the ADAC, the oldest club in the ADAC North Rhine-Westphalia. The race will consist of 16 laps on the 24.358-kilometer version of the Nürburgring (Nordschleife plus short GP connection). Test and setup drive ahead of the opening eventBefore the start of the RCN season, a test and setup drive for RCN participants and other interested parties will take place on Friday, March 27. From 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., the 24.358-kilometer track variant of the Nürburgring (Nordschleife + GP short connection) will be available for test drives. ➡️ Here you will find an explanation of how the RCN performance tests are structured.

RCN sponsors extend partnership

06.02.2026

Before the start of the Rundstrecken-Challenge Nürburgring (RCN) season in 2026, there was some good news. Two long-standing partners who support the popular sports series have extended their commitment. This means that the future of the popular series in the Eifel region is now a little more secure. H&R remains a partner of the RCNThe Nürburgring Circuit Challenge (RCN) has been working closely with suspension specialist H&R for many years. The trusting cooperation between the popular amateur racing series at the Nürburgring and the suspension specialist from the Sauerland region has now been extended for another year ahead of the 2026 season. The Sauerland-based company is prominently featured on the starting numbers and rear of the RCN competition vehicles. H&R offers sport springs, sport suspensions, wheel spacers, and stabilizers for almost all common production vehicles. In addition to numerous private customers and many teams from the world of motorsport, the automotive industry also relies on the expertise of the company, which has established itself as a competent partner in the field of suspension systems for many years. Sven Gramm, Director of Marketing and Communications: "Motorsport is simply part of H&R. We want to prove our expertise on the racetrack and at the same time appeal to our potential customers on the road. To this end, we not only want to be represented in top-level motorsports, but also support popular sports." RAVENOL extends cooperation with the RCN by 3 yearsRavensberger Schmierstoffvertrieb GmbH has been an official partner of the RCN since the 2017 season. The cooperation has now been extended again for three years in the run-up to the upcoming RCN season. The company from Werther in East Westphalia, which is celebrating its 80th anniversary this year, will continue to advertise with the RAVENOL brand name on all vehicles in the popular grassroots racing series. In addition, the high-quality lubricants will be offered to participants for motorsport use at attractive prices. The racing lubricants and care products have been used for many years in renowned racing series by numerous top national and international teams. Martin Huning, Motorsport Director at RAVENOL: "We look forward to continuing our cooperation with the Rundstrecken-Challenge Nürburgring. RAVENOL has been supporting popular sports for many years. The RCN is a good entry platform for ambitious motorsport enthusiasts, and our company has a special connection to the Nürburgring." RCN Series Manager Willi Hillebrand: “The extension of the partnerships shows once again that the Rundstrecken-Challenge Nürburgring is valued by our long-standing supporters as an attractive grassroots series. This is an important building block for a secure future for the series.”
