Falcons for the fifth time, championship decision postponed

19.10.2024

The sun was shining when Alessio Picariello crossed the finish line as the winner. Together with Klaus Bachler, the Belgian took the fifth victory of the season for Falken Motorsports in the Porsche 911 GT3 R with the starting number 3. The place on the top step of the podium was the well-deserved reward for a demanding race day in the Green Hell. Frank Stippler and Nico Bastian took second place in the Scherer Sport PHX Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO 2, with Dennis Fetzer, Michele Beretta and Jusuf Owega in the Team Advan x HRT Mercedes-AMG GT3 finishing in fourth. The battle for the championship in the ADAC Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie has meanwhile been postponed. Bachler and Picariello's victory in the 55th Adenauer ADAC Rundstrecken-Trophy was anything but a walk in the park. In cold and wet conditions during qualifying, Bachler initially set the best time before he went off the track with the Falken 911 and crashed into the barrier. The Falken team used the break until the race to repair the car. As the last car to start, the 911 rolled to the starting line just in time, with Bachler at the wheel. He defended this position for four laps. Because the GPS system was not working properly due to the repair, race control ordered Falken to the pits with the so-called 'fried egg flag'. At the unscheduled stop, the team decided to make a bold tire change: Bachler was the first driver to switch to slicks. Even though the first few meters were difficult, he managed to build up a lead. At the next stop, Picariello took over the wheel and also had contact with the guard rail in the butcher's field. The damage did not affect the racing speed and he continued the race in changing weather conditions. “The Nordschleife was really a big challenge today,” admitted Picariello. “Klaus did two fantastic stints in difficult conditions and then handed the car over to me with a big lead over first place. For me, it was still primarily a matter of survival with the traffic and changing conditions.” Bachler added: ”Today was really a very emotional day with many ups and downs. After qualifying, I didn't think we would be racing today. The team then did a great job. All credit to our mechanics.” Nico Bastian makes strong Audi debutIn his first outing in the GT3 Audi, Bastian impressed right from the start, setting the fastest race lap in 8:01.545 minutes. “It was a great honor for me to drive the winning car of this year's 24-hour race, Scherer Sport PHX, together with Frank,” said the 34-year-old. “The biggest challenge was the weather, both yesterday during the test and today in the race. In my first dry lap, I then immediately set this strong lap time. For me, a lot of this weekend was new territory. But sometimes that's exactly what you need. In the end, we finished second and I had a lot of fun.” After the first Mercedes-AMG victory in 2024 at the 6-hour race, the Advan x HRT team confirmed their good performance with third place. “In qualifying, we really struggled with the conditions and ended up only in 21st place on the grid,” said Fetzer. “In the race, things went quite well, the sun came out at the end, and we made it onto the podium – that's quite a consolation.” Tobias Müller and Black Falcon win PETN Cup2Behind the top trio, the Black Falcon Team 48 Losch with Tobias Müller and Noah Nagelsdiek not only celebrated class victory in the Cup 2 of the Porsche Endurance Trophy Nürburgring, but also the title in the popular brand trophy. “I used to share in the excitement with my father when he was racing, and today I'm getting the biggest success of my career – I'm almost lost for words,” said an emotional Müller. ”The key to our success, apart from our speed, was consistency. We scored a lot of extra points with pole position and the fastest race lap. Today, we managed to win again.” In the Cup 3 class, Joshua Bednarski, Lucas Daugaard and Moritz Oberheim of AVIA W&S Motorsport wrapped up the title at NLS4. The team has not yet managed this feat in the overall standings of the ADAC Nürburgring Endurance Series. The trio's Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 CS was badly damaged in an accident during Friday's test, meaning that they were unable to start. “Unfortunately, our Cayman could not be repaired overnight,” admitted team manager Patrick Wagner. ‘Our drivers were unfortunately condemned to watch. But in four weeks, we will be back in full force to win the NLS championship after winning the PETN title.’ The class victory went to the SRS Team Sorg Rennsport with drivers Heiko Eichenberg, Fabio Grosse and Patrik Grütter. Adrenalin keeps the championship openWith their fifth victory in the seventh race, Sven Markert, Ranko Mijatovic and Toby Goodman in the BMW M240i Racing of the Adrenalin Motorsport Team Mainhatten Wheels kept their title chances open. Daniel Mertens and Joshua Hislop, on the other hand, are out of the race. With the Hyundai i30N, the duo first suffered a technical defect that could be quickly rectified and then an accident. Mertens Motorsport did not bury their heads in the sand here either. Mertens/Hislop were classified sixth, but unfortunately no longer have a chance of winning the championship. Benjamin Leuchter, Dominik and Marcel Fugel drove the fastest car in the alternative fuels class to ninth place overall. The Porsche 911 GT3 Cup from Max Kruse Racing is powered by Shell E20 fuel with 102 octane and performed extremely well with it. At times, the trio even finished second overall. The team's Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport 24h also relies on this fuel and took second place in its class. The long-standing pioneers in sustainability in the Green Hell had to settle for third place. Rapper Smudo (Die Fantastischen Vier) drove the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup from Four Motors Bioconcept-Car together with Michelle Halder and Henrik Bollerslev. The finale of the ADAC Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie will take place on November 16th.

NLS enters the hot phase after an eleven-week break

16.10.2024

Drivers and fans of the ADAC Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie  have had to wait eleven weeks. This Saturday, October 19, 2024, race action is finally back on the agenda in the 'Green Hell'. The teams in the traditional Nordschleife championship are just as hardy as the loyal spectators. Neither are deterred by mixed weather forecasts. The provisional entry list includes 126 cars and the 55th Adenauer ADAC Rundstrecken-Trophy promises a thrilling race day, with the focus not only on the fight for victory on the day. The winning team from this year's ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürburgring is returning to the Nordschleife. Frank Stippler and Nico Bastian will be driving the Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO 2 from Scherer Sport PHX. Among the main opponents are the two Falken Porsches, which have so far notched up four victories. Klaus Bachler and Alessio Picariello, as well as Joel Eriksson and Tim Heinemann, will be at the wheel for the 55th Adenauer ADAC Rundstrecken-Trophy. After winning the 6-hour race, Dennis Fetzer, Michele Beretta and Jusuf Owega, driving the Mercedes-AMG GT3 of Team ADVAN x HRT, are also a force to be reckoned with. In addition, the two Audis from JUTARACING and équipe vitesse, a Porsche 911 GT3 R from Dinamic GT and the PROsport-Racing Aston Martin Vantage GT3 will be competing in the GT3 class. Max Kruse Racing launches AT offensiveThe team around football star Max Kruse and Benny Leuchter is taking sustainability to the next level at NLS5. Of the six cars in the team from Duisburg, five will start in the 'Alternative Fuels' class. In addition to the spectacular VW Golf GTI Clubsport 24h, which celebrated its NLS debut with a strong second place in the 6-hour race, the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup with starting number #105 will also rely on a sustainable Shell E20 fuel with 102 octane for the first time. For the first time, a fast refueling system will be used in the Max Kruse Racing garage for this car for testing purposes. “This is an important step for the future,” explains VLN sports director Christian Vormann. ”The approval of these systems will enable our teams to work with individual fuel partners to advance sustainability in our series in the future. So we are no longer limited in the range of different concepts. The ADAC Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie is once again taking on a pioneering role as a technology-open championship.” MKR will field two more VW Golf GTI TCRs and an 'alternative' Audi RS3 TCR. Three Porsches from Four Motors Bioconcept-Car, built by rapper SMUDO (Die Fantastischen Vier) and Tom von Löwis, will also be competing in sustainable motorsport at NLS5. A preliminary decision in the championship is possibleWith two races remaining, the fight for the championship is slowly but surely coming to a head. Four teams can still win the title. Joshua Bednarski, Lucas Daugaard and Moritz Oberheim lead the table with the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 CS from AVIA W&S Motorsport. The trio took five class victories, including the 6-hour race, which earns more points, as well as a second place. If they manage another victory, they will be uncatchable in the standings. In certain constellations in the remaining two races, the second-placed Daniel Merten and Joshua Hislop could still become champions with the Hyundai i30N of Team Mertens Motorsport. Steve Jans and Tobias Müller in the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup of the BLACK FALCON Team 48 LOSCH and Sven Markert, Ranko Mijatovic and Toby Goodman in the BMW M240i Racing Cup of the Adrenalin Motorsport Team Mainhatten Wheels also have at least a theoretical chance. The situation in the Junior Trophy, which is open to drivers born after January 1, 1999, is similar: Daugaard leads the standings ahead of Hislop and Goodman. In the production car category, Mertens Motorsport leads the standings. They have a nine-point lead over Jan-Piet Ooms, who races for SRS Team Sorg Rennsport in a BMW 330i (G20). There are still a number of permutations in which the championship will be decided. Age is no barrier to racing speed! The newly created Gentleman Trophy, which was launched this year, is set to be exciting. Drivers born in 1973 and earlier compete against each other. With 30 points still to be awarded, about a dozen drivers still have a chance of winning the title. Michael Eichhorn (Cupra, Auto Thomas by Jung Motorsport) is in the lead, ahead of Michael Tischner (Toyota Supra GT4, TOYO TIRES with Ring Racing) and Eichhorn's teammate Michael Winterwerber. In the NLS Speed Trophy, the classification for the top cars, the #4 Porsche 911 GT3 R from Falken Motorsports is in first place. Its lead over the #911 Manthey EMA 911 is 18 points. However, since 'Grello' will not be competing due to a scheduling conflict, Falken can wrap things up with a third-place finish. Desiree Müller (BMW 325i, Eifelkind Racing) is leading the Ladies Trophy ahead of Flavia Pellegrino Fernandes (BMW 325i, Keeevin Sports and Racing), who won the classification last year. Both ladies are competing in the V4 class and the result is still open. The Goodyear Wingfoot Award, which has been announced for the first time this year, is given to all vehicles across all classes that rely on Goodyear's black gold. The #50 Audi R8 LMS GT3 from équipe vitesse has a good chance of winning the title for the first time. Its lead over the two BMW M240i Racing Cup #650 and #651 from Adrenalin Motorsport Team Mainhatten Wheels is 116 points. Tickets are available for €22 (children up to 14 years of age are free) and can also be purchased at the box office. These include access to the open grandstands at the Grand Prix circuit, the exclusive Brünnchen and Pflanzgarten spectator areas, the paddock, the pit lane, the starting grid and the ring°werk motorsport experience museum. The positions on the starting grid will be determined between 8:30 and 10 am. During the pit walk starting at 10:20 am and the visit to the starting grid starting at 11:10 am, fans will experience motorsport up close.

Nürburgring gives outlook on the 2025 annual calendar

04.09.2024

With the current season still in full swing at the Nürburgring, the race track and event location is already giving a preview of the coming year. From international highlights to event exotics and from motorsport to entertainment, the 2025 calendar once again promises the unique Nürburgring mix. A current overview: Exciting motorsport highlights in the Green HellNaturally, the world's longest permanent race track is also characterised by an attractive motorsport calendar in 2025. Particularly popular with fans: endurance motorsport on the Nordschleife. The highlight is the ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürburgring, which will once again put man and machine to the ultimate test from 19 to 22 June 2025 and promise a gigantic motorsport party together with tens of thousands of fans. As usual, the ADAC Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS) will kick off the motorsport year. After the first race on 22 March, eight more race days will follow until October, each of which usually falls on a Saturday. Only on 13 and 14 September are two race days scheduled on one weekend for the NLS and therefore also the only race Sunday in the series. The dates of the Nürburgring Rundstrecken Challenge (RCN) are another Nordschleife format on the calendar. Regularity and performance tests offer popular sport from road-legal to race-ready vehicles. From GT3 to XXL: thrilling motorsport from racing cars to race trucksFans of thrilling motorsport will once again get their money's worth on the Grand Prix circuit. The giants of motorsport will compete against each other on the sprint version of the International ADAC Truck Grand Prix from 10 - 13 July. Every year, the event delights visitors with a family-friendly concept of motorsport, festival, colourful paddock and trade fair. Included in the supporting programme: the ADAC GT Masters. The Fanatec GT World Challenge (29 - 31 August) and the Porsche Sports Cup (30 May - 1 June) will feature high-quality racing cars from the world's best-known automotive brands. The Nürburgring Drift Cup, which will host its first round on 26 and 27 April, and GRIP - the motor event that will attract the tuning community to the Eifel on 6 July, are also high on horsepower and, above all, action-packed drifting. The date for the DTM at the Nürburgring has already been finalised. However, fans will have to wait a little longer before the announcement. The racing series will present its annual calendar in the coming days. Experiences with music and muscle powerAway from the roaring sounds of engines, powerful guitar riffs await at the beginning of June. Rock am Ring will get visitors' hearts racing from 6 to 8 June. According to the recently published first wave of bands, ‘Slipknot’ and ‘Bring me the Horizon’ have already been confirmed as headliners for the festival's 40th anniversary alongside other well-known bands. A similar-sounding event name, but with a completely different intention, can be found in the 2025 calendar with Rad am Ring. In mid-July, thousands of tireless participants will once again take to the start line to conquer the Green Hell with their own muscle power. Incidentally, this is also required for the Hotfoot Run - but not on two wheels, but on foot. The obstacle course takes place on 10 May. Fast-paced PS classics in racing actionThe heroes and automotive jewels of days gone by have also once again secured several permanent places on the Ring calendar. Old and youngtimers and memories of many decades of motorsport will be brought to life on the Grand Prix circuit and the Nordschleife. The Nürburgring Classic will kick off 2025 from 13 to 15 June. This will be followed in August by the BELMOT Oldtimer Grand Prix (1st - 3rd) and the legendary ADAC 1000km race from 20th to 21st September. The ADAC RGB season finale, the ADAC Westfalen Trophy and, last but not least, the Kölner Kurs as a historic motorbike event round off the historic programme. Motorbike service and racing on two wheelsSpeaking of motorbikes: after returning to the Nürburgring this year, the International Motorcycle Championship (IDM) is also on the calendar for the coming season. From 5 to 7 September, the series will kick off with thrilling two-wheel racing. There will be impressive pictures of thousands of motorbikes off the racing line at the ‘Anlassen’ motorbike service on 27 April. One of the highlights of the programme: the joint parade around the legendary Nordschleife. Diverse indoor events: entertainment away from the racetrackThe Nürburgring also continues to see a steady increase in events away from the tarmac. And so the 2025 season in the Green Hell starts and ends with indoor events throughout the year. The International Rhine Shiai Karate Tournament will kick off the season on the second weekend in January, while the German Carnival Garda Dance Championship will be the event finale in December. Both events will take place in the ring°arena, as will two cheerleading competitions on 15 and 16 February and the ‘Darts am Ring’ gala in March. The latter is set to become the undisputed fan magnet in the indoor calendar with over 3,000 fans expected. The exact date for the flying darts event will be announced shortly. Further music and entertainment formats at the Nürburgring venues are also scheduled for next year. Comedy at NightWash live, the Nürburgring Family Day and a colourful afternoon at the Disney Channel cinema have been decided for 2025 and will soon be added to the calendar.

Aiming for more safety in the paddock - VLN brings experts together

11.08.2024

The dismay over the tragic accident in the run-up to the ROWE 6h ADAC Ruhr-Pokal race, in which a compressed air cylinder exploded behind a pit lane, continues. Even though the results of the police investigation are not yet available, the containers used in motorsport can obviously pose a danger. The VLN is therefore seeking the expertise of specialists in order to contain the risks. To this end, talks are plannedwith the expert organization DEKRA, which has been a partner of the NLS since 2024, and the ILN (Interessengemeinschaft Langstrecke Nürburgring). "We don't want to get carried away now, but the incident before NLS4 has shown that there is a need for action," says Christian Vormann, Head of Sport at the VLN. "From our point of view, however, it makes no sense to simply impose rules on the teams. On the one hand, we need real experts in the field of compressed air tanks - we have them at our partner DEKRA. On the other hand, measures for teams must also be feasible and practicable. This is where we rely on ILN's knowledge." Mobile compressed air tanks are present in almost all pits in motorsport. Among other things, they are used to operate the lifting systems in the racing cars. "Even after the first few minutes in a preliminary discussion with the DEKRA experts, we realized that the topic is far more complex than you might think at first," says Vormann. "We also had contact with many team bosses who are now somewhat unsure about the compressed air tanks they use. Ultimately, we not only want to increase safety with targeted measures, but also raise awareness among everyone involved. We cannot undo the accident, but we can actively work to minimize the risk in the future."

Team ADVAN x HRT takes first Mercedes-AMG victory since 2020

05.08.2024

The winners of the ROWE 6h ADAC Ruhr Cup race are Salman Owega, David Schumacher and Hubert Haupt. The trio celebrated the first Mercedes victory since 2020 in the Mercedes-AMG GT3 of Team ADVAN x HRT. For GT drivers Schumacher and Owega, it is the first NLS victory of their still young careers. At 19, Owega is also the second-youngest winner in the 47-year history of the traditional Nordschleife championship. Only Jörg van Ommen was younger: The former DTM driver took his first victory in 1981 and was just a few days younger than Owega. Behind the winners, the two Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars of BLACK FALCON Team 48 LOSCH and AVIA W&S Motorsport from the Porsche Endurance Trophy Nürburgring (Cup2) surprisingly finished second and third. Steve Jans, Tobias Müller and Gabriele Piana were delighted with second place, while Daniel Blickle, Tim Scheerbarth and David Jahn finished third. "We are super happy that we were able to win this race. We had a lot of competition, but they didn't compete in the second part of the race," said Haupt. A few minutes after the start of the 6-hour race, two pile-ups occurred as the rain set in, literally leaving the top 7 cars on the track. As a result, the race was red-flagged for around 1:45 hours. "To have won my first race in the Green Hell is a great result. The Green Hell showed its best side today and we had a lot of fun," said Schumacher. Owega added: "I'm really happy. Thanks to the team for the top performance. It was very hot in the car at the end, but I'm happy." When asked about his age and the fact that he is the second-youngest winner of the NLS, he joked: "I can't catch up with van Ommen, I'm not getting any younger." "P2 with a Cup 2 car is huge, even though we all know that we benefited from the accidents," said Müller. "We really pulled through. The race wasn't easy. I was sitting in the car when the downpour came. It felt like swimming free." Piana called for the final phase: "I'm exhausted. A great result. Tobias and Steve did well, I just had to bring the result to the finish." Victory in the Am classification of the GT3 SP9 class went to Michael Heimrich, Lorenzo Rocco and Arno Klasen in the équpe vitesse Audi R8 LMS GT3. The fastest Pro-Am GT3 was the Porsche 911 GT3 R from Huber Motorsport with drivers Hans Wehrmann, Joachim Thyssen and Thomas Kiefer. Successful Nordschleife race premiere for football star Max KruseThe 17-time national football player Max Kruse successfully completed his racing debut in the NLS. In the VW Golf GTI TCR, the Reinbeck native drove ten laps in the shortened race in the Green Hell alongside Nico Otto and Marcus Menden. "That was an exhausting stint," said Kruse afterwards. "Benny Leuchter had already told me that the heat would make my feet burn. He was right. It started from lap seven. Nevertheless, it was a lot of fun today and I'm also happy with my times for the first race. What I'm taking with me is a lot of adrenaline and the realisation that I can keep up. I've been preparing for this for six years." Victory in the AT class was snatched by another prominent driver: Smudo (Die Fantastischen Vier) won in the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup together with Michelle Halder, Henrik Bollerslev and Matthias Beckwermert. Championship lead defended and Cup class won: AVIA W&S RacingJoshua Bednarski, Lucas Daugaard and Moritz Oberheim have not only successfully defended their lead in the ADAC Nürburgring Endurance Series standings with their fifth victory in the sixth race. The AVIA W&S Racing trio also clinched the early title in the Cup 3 class of the Porsche Endurance Trophy Nürburgring. With two races to go, they have an unassailable lead. "We've actually clinched the championship early," said a delighted Oberheim. "I don't even know what to say. The season is going perfectly. Big praise to my team-mates, the team and our partners. Now we're attacking in the NLS overall standings. We can think about that now." The ROWE 6h ADAC Ruhr Cup race counts towards the overall standings because the winners covered more than four hours of racing distance when the two partial results are added together. The battle for the championship in the ADAC Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie will be decided in the remaining races on 19th October and 16th November. NLS4 overshadowed by incident on FridayA tragic accident occurred on Friday evening in the run-up to the race. After initial treatment at the medical centre on site, some of the injured were transferred to nearby hospitals by rescue helicopter. According to the Koblenz police station, the condition of all seriously injured people was stable on Saturday morning. After consultation with participants, the ILN and the driver representatives of the NLS, the VLN decided to hold the race. After the race, an award ceremony with anthem and champagne shower was cancelled. "Our thoughts are with those affected by the incident on Friday evening," says VLN boss Mike Jäger. The season highlight of the ADAC Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie is just around the corner. On August 3rd, there will be a 50 percent increase in the race distance. And the ROWE 6h ADAC Ruhr-Pokal race, which has been designed as a big family festival this year, also has more to offer in many other respects. Tickets are available here and those staying at home can follow the action around the Nürburgring in the livestream here. There is a lot of action in the premier class SP9. 15 GT3 cars have entered for the 6-hour race. Falken Motorsports has a spectacular new entry. Ex-Formula 1 and DTM driver Timo Glock will make his debut in the Porsche 911 GT3 R. Alongside Nico Menzel, there is a lot of pressure on the 42-year-old professional, as Falken is the favorite this year with four wins from five races. “I'm really looking forward to my first GT3 race in the Green Hell,” says Glock. "After my permit races with underpowered touring cars in the NLS, the step up to GT4 in the 24-hour race was a big plus in terms of driving fun. I am very grateful to Falken that they are now giving me the opportunity to drive the Porsche 911 GT3 R. In Nico Menzel, I have a strong driver at my side and I'm excited to see how we'll do in the end." In the sister car, Alessio Picariello will alternate with Alexander Lynn, another newcomer. The Briton is the reigning LMP2 champion of the European Le Mans Series and competes in the WEC for Cadillac. Four teams are celebrating their comeback in the NLS. The two DTM drivers Ayhancan Güven and Thomas Preining will alternate with Laurens Vanthoor in the Manthey EMA 'Grello'. Alex Fontana, Klaus Koch, Florian Spengler and Johannes Stengel will line up for Car Collection Motorsport in the Audi R8 LMS GT3 evo II, while Dutchman Adrien De Leener and Bastian Buus will share a Porsche 911 GT3 R with Dinamic GT. Hans Wehrmann, Joachim Thyssen and Thomas Kiefer will also be competing for Huber Motorsport in a 911. Three Mercedes-AMG GT3s will also start the race with strong crews. The ADVAN x HRT team will be on the grid with Jusuf Owega, Arjun Maini and Dennis Fetzer as well as Salman Owega, David Schumacher and Hubert Haupt. Mercedes-AMG Team Landgraf is relying on Lucas Auer, Ralf Aron and Jules Gounon. PROsport-Racing and Walkenhorst Motorsport will fly the Aston Martin flag. The Renazzo Motorsport team led by Thai drift champion Kiki Sak Nana will field a Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo II, while JUTARACING and équipe vitesse will each bring an Audi R8 LMS GT3 to the Eifel. Last but not least, the congenial duo Frank Stippler / Vincent Kolb will continue their journey through the Green Hell in the Porsche 911 GT3 R from Herberth Motorsport. Professional footballer Max Kruse meets rapper SMUDO in his racing debutAs a partner and namesake of the racing team of the same name, Max Kruse has been present in the ADAC Nürburgring Langstrecken Serie for years. Now the professional footballer is going one step further and contesting his first race on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife. Together with Nico Otto and Marcus Menden, Kruse will drive a VW Golf VII GTI TCR in the AT class. The vehicle runs on 102-octane Shell E20 fuel, which emits 50% less CO2. “I'm delighted to finally be able to take part in my first NLS race after six years,” says Kruse, who has worn the national team jersey 17 times. "Driving Max Kruse Racing's own Golf on the Nordschleife will be tough competition. The test on Friday as well as qualifying and the race on Saturday - it's going to be a great weekend. I'm really looking forward to it and I'm hoping for bright sunshine." Benjamin Leuchter and Heiko Hammel are also competing in the same class with the new VW Golf GTI Clubsport 24h, which celebrated its premiere at the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring. The MKR protagonists will have to compete with two Porsches from Four Motors Bioconcept-Car. Rapper SMUDO (Die Fantastischen Vier) will alternate with Michelle Halder, Henrik Bollerselv and Matthias Beckwermert in the 911 GT3 R. First-class entertainment on and off the race trackThe ROWE 6h ADAC Ruhr-Pokal race will be a festival for the whole family. On race day, all German states are still on summer vacation. For this reason, the six hours of racing action are not the only reason for a trip to the beautiful Eifel region; fans will also be offered great added value in the paddock. With a bouncy castle and food trucks in the paddock, the fan area invites you to linger. Skye and Chase from Paw Patrol offer selfie opportunities, as does the Nürburgring mascot 'Legend'. All the walking acts will be present between practice and the race during the pit walk in the pit lane and on the grid, which is open to all spectators at the NLS. Another highlight in the fan area is the Volkswagen exhibition. The automotive group from Wolfsburg is bringing ten exhibits from the VW Museum to the Nürburgring to mark the 50th anniversary of the Golf. The legends will also take to the Nordschleife in a motorcade between practice and the race. The same applies to the participants in the charity parade, where fans can rent a car to experience the Green Hell for the benefit of the track safety stewards. A campaign by VLN boss Mike Jäger on Friday afternoon will also focus on the volunteers, who have one of the most important jobs at the NLS races. The 27-time class winner will take to the Nordschleife in an Aston Martin Vantage GT4 from PROsport Racing to give interested fans an unforgettable lap of the Nordschleife. Incidentally, the test drive has another highlight in store. BMW will be testing the new BMW M4 GT3 EVO for the first time as part of the NLS - something automotive enthusiasts should not miss out on.
